Anyone have this problem with a webpage?

I go to create forums for a webpage and I get the:

Critical Error
Could not connect to database

problem over and over. The forums were up but about a month and a half ago it went down and hasnt been up since. I am pretty sure Im typing in all my configuring data correctley.

I am actually being hosted by SynthLights hosting. I have contacted him a few weeks ago and it still hasnt been fixed, so I was wondering if there was anytihng I could do (Im aware that he and his wife are most likeley at the hospital still). I have contacted him by email twice, AIM, and through PMS. He got back to me once but it still hasnt been resolved.

This problem is kind of irritating considering the only thing I use the website for is the forums, and they have been down for almost two months. Is there anything I can do to fix it?

Check the config.php file, it is most likely that the values in that file are missing, corrupt, or incorrect.

uh... 1. why is synth in the hospital? 2. when women have babies, they are out within 2 days. so, even Mrs. Webb isn't still in the hospital.

I thought Synth said he would be there for a few days because his wife was in labor. I heard they can be there for a while before they even give birth.

Anyways, I updated a fresh version of forums (PHPbb2) so the config is blank, but when I go through the install.php with all the correct info, I still get that error. Ive been looking around on the web for a while, cant find anything. It may be because of something im trying to do, but also may be out of my control.

Try connecting to phpMyAdmin with your password.
