LD needs teh glasses

Yea, so a while ago, I went to the doc for a yearly checkup for winter sports.

I mentioned that my eyesight was getting worse.

He told my mom to make an appointment.

She hasn't.

Now, last week, we had to get our eyes checked in Gym. My eyesight was bad.

Today, they had to check me again, AND IT GOT WORSE!

Now, they have to make a huge deal about it, and I have to get glasses for farsightedness (is that a word?).

Does anyone else have glasses, and if so, do they suck?

Glasses probably don't suck once you're used to them, though that'll take time.

I'm lucky - both of my parents have glasses, but I've got excellent vision.

I have glasses since I was 7 and im 17 now. I wore them like a nice little boy until around 11-12 and I got fed up of them and ever since then I havn't worn them regularly and in the last 2 years my eyesight was REALLY poor and it went back to normal and then it got poor and it went to normal..

It seems to me I only wear them when I really notice that I do and in tons of pain...

Get contacts for everyday use like school and shit and keep glasses for at home when nobody can see you or care.. then eventually they'll be fine and you wont need them anymore.

they dont suck (even though i dont wear them my sis does) if u get the right kind of glasses they will look cool and yea my sis bitched about wearing glasses for only like a few days so it kinda does take time but i guess im not one to say

My eyes are horrible. They started going bad in 9th grade. I finally got glasses during that summer, I think. They take some getting used to... It's CRAZY how much of a difference there is. I was so shocked. EVERYTHING looked different: the school, the carpeting, the tv, people... I could actually see peoples' faces in school!

I have contacts now too... but I hardly ever wear them since I'm low on them and uhhh we don't have eye insurance anymore... (in fact I don't have health insurance right now since my dad's company moved and he's been layed off -__-).

My eyes apparently were bad but not bad enough to the point where I put on my glasses and im like "WOW OMFG DID WE USED TO HAVE THAT CARPET? AND WAS IT REALLY GREEN!?!?"

For me it looked the same because my left eye is in charge and its healthy and my right eye is weaker so it tends to look the same even though it doesn't...kind of thing.

But yeah if I try to walk around like I used to for fun with my left eye shut and using my right eye its like almost being blind I cant tell what is what or read ....

Glasses aren't too bad, I've worn them for....probably about 9 years now and I don't even notice them anymore. They're kinda weird for the first week then you get used to them.
