Getting a new computer and need some help!

    Okay, here is the deal:

I'm going to get a new computer for Christmas, but I can't find any ones that I like... and price wise also. Then I came over http://www.cyberpowersystem.com/ , Wow, I was looking at the "Gamer Infinity 6800 PRO" deal on the home page, and I was more than impressed. I tweaked the specs a bit, but all-around it was about the same price. Has anyone here bought a PC from them? I'd realy like some one-on-one feedback before I give it a thumbs up for purchase.

    Much thanks-
    Adam

doesn't froogle give you price comparison's and ratings on different places to buy stuff? if not, then there definately are websites that will let you rate your purchase on a website.... i'd find one of those.

what you need to do is make an outline of what you will be using the computer for and analyze what parts of the computer are important to what you will be doing with it. You don't need a screaming fast computer to browse the internet, email, and play FFR.

Ok. Rule NUMERO UNO: Never buy from Cyberpower. Ass awful customer service and repair. Trust me, you will be sorry. If you really want a computer, go with their sister site, www.ibuypower.com . Same prices, better service. Also, instead of going with the P4 3.4, try to buy an AMD equivalent- that is, a 3200 or 3400+. If you want to spend the money, an FX-51 or 53 will be bleeding fast and provide you with the absolute best gaming experience you can get.

What Anti said. If you're buying that, evidently you want to do gaming (and if you don't, you suck). P4's are okay for gaming, but if you look around, what do all the gaming systems from Falcon Northwest, Alienware, etc. have in them? AMD's. You want an AMD if you game a lot.

it will almost always be ultimately cheaper to build your own rig. I do it all the time for my friends when they are getting a new comp. I work for beer.
