    Eternal Daughter.

It's an RPG platformer. Very, very hard. Still trying to beat it myself..

    RE: Eternal Daughter.

So no one is checking this FREE game out huh? Well fine..

So what exactly is this game? It's an RPG and a platformer put in one. That's obvious enough. Let's take a look at the story..

"The tenuous relationship between the many races of the World is being strained as the greedy Dungaga hordes expand their Empire of Steel. In the game you play Mia, a young girl born into slavery under the Dungaga. You must escape the bonds of your oppressors and defeat the greater evil controlling them. Fulfill your destiny, and discover the truth about who you really are."

    How about a couple reviews?

1up.com: "Everything about Eternal Daughter is pure Metroidvania, with a dash of Popful Mail for flavor. Everything that made those games fun is here, only with its own unique visual style and an amount of polish that you just don't see very often in an indy game."

Home of the Underdogs: "Simply put, Eternal Daughter exemplifies what action gaming should be all about: intuitive controls, smooth gameplay, innovative and varied challenges, tough enemies, and above all - thoroughly addictive."

    Want some screenshots?

This game was made by a few people and it was HIGHLY INFLUENCED by Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and (loosley) Metroid. The gameplay definately reflects that. You start as a small slave girl but there are various moves you can earn throughout the game as well as heart containers and magic scrolls. (boosts HP and attack power) There are, of course, secrets in the game as well as unintentional bugs that boost completion percentage. (just like C:SOTN. Rumored 114% as of now) Not to mention it is indeed a good challenge, I've died MANY times myself.

I'm almost done with the game. I'm at 102% completion, 20 health (or hearts), and my attack power is at 9. (found 9 magic scrolls)

The only reason I see for this game NOT being on, say, the GBA is because of the length. I'm at the end at 4 hours. Although, I've definately put a few more hours into the game but they were all lost through deaths.

    It's a gem.

          RE: Eternal Daughter.

          I'm downloading it.
I'll edit with comment on this post later after I play it
NAA edit: Like others said, I like the game, but it's very hard with only 4 hits at the beginning and there's only like a 25% chance you get any life recovery and makes me die a lot. It does look a lot like Castlevania doesn't it?
Please point out any spelling or grammatical errors I may have missed in my post, thanks.

Wow, this is FUN. The only thing I don't like is the absurdly low amount of life you start out with. Four hits and you're dead, and there's no brief invincibility, either.

Other than that, this is excellent.

                  RE: Eternal Daughter.

Well, that's what makes it hard in beginning. But later, when you get the hearts and power, they make it hard by having more monsters and monsters that do more damage. So you'll never really have enough. : )
