What P2P programs do you use?

Just a nice little poll I thought of.

So, post what you use. You can give your opinions on them, too.

I'm currently using eXeem (I'm betatesting this one), Soulseek, Shareaza, and Azureus.

eXeem I can't really give too much info about other than it's awesome, sorry.

Soulseek is, hands-down, THE program to find music on. Its user database is relatively small, too, which means that the stuff on it is QUALITY. Usually fast DL speeds, too. Only real problem is that the client is kind of buggy, but they're working on that, and it's made up for with the quality, anyway.

Shareaza is something Squeek forced me to use recently. It utilizes the Gnutella and eDonkey networks and can work with Bittorrent, too. The main pro of this is INSANELY GODLY speeds. I've gotten around 2500 kb/s down on a file before. My max for uploads is around 325 kb/s. Sadly, most of the files on here aren't too great, and it's very hard to find good stuff, unless you know people.

Azureus is your standard BT client. Java-based, with support for locally hosted trackers and very easy torrent creations.

    So, post yours!

EDIT: Scratch that, record for UL on Shareaza is now 500! They DLd an episode of Lain in one minute!

EDIT 2: Note that none of these have spyware or ads of any sort.

RE: What P2P programs do you use?

Darn right I forced you into using it. It's so awesome.

2500 kb/s is like... 312KBps? Yea, you can turn it to KB/s instead of bits. But still, 312 is pretty fast. I've only gotten to 303 ONCE.

It sure is hard to find unpopular stuff that you can't get a BT file for. Somehow I managed to get the last 4 episodes of Outlaw Star in 10 minutes. 2.5 minutes each. The BT file went from 1-22, so I needed the rest... Pretty amazing stuff.

By the way, you can't use two adverbs one after the other (insanely godly? insanely godlike speeds).

RE: What P2P programs do you use?

Mostly I just stick to Bittorrent. With all the P2P viruses floating around, I hate using clients like Kazaa...although I will scour Soulseek or WinMX every now and then for a file. I just use ABC for bittorrent, it's simple enough so that I can just let it do it's thing, and works well enough so that I don't have to constantly check up on it.

        No, I mean KB/s. I just didn't capitalize it.

Yes, my connection is that fast.

            Uhh.

            SS.

I can't believe that so easily. Really. I have a 5mb line and 303 was my maximum. Wow.

            Not fair.

I don't use P2P stuff. I buy my music. Although, if I did, I'd use MYtunes, because I'm on a large network.

lets see... i've used Limewire and eDonkey..... although i've been using BitTorrent/BitTornado mostly recently... much more reliable and generally faster. not to mention, so much more stuff is available, and faster. new tv shows are up within an hour of airing.

way back in the day.... used Napster and Morpheus (before it was Kazaa, before the spyware)... have also tried things like Bearshare and other Gnuetella programs. also mIRC in the past.

edit.. oh yea. i've DLed/ULed on my network at 1MB/s, ULed at a combined 650KB/s over BT and AIM the other day.... best DL is around 500KB/s from outside my network.

I mainly get crap through bittorrent, using Qtorrent as my client.

Same. I rarely download music. But Movies and TV shows are different.

Also, I would buy albums, but 65% of the albums I want would have to be imported from Europe or Japan (which means nearly twice as much). And the other 35% are indie bands or not-so-popular electronic artists. And since the music scene in the Coachella Valley is RETARDED the chances of finding what I want are .01% and I would probably have to drive 35 minutes to get to Palm Springs to purchase the CD in a smoke filled second hand music store located next to a Homosexual Bar.

Soulseek and Shadow's Bittorrent Client. Mostly BT though, because I've been needing things in bulk (such as the 700 SNES roms that I've gotten recently) and very large files (got Harold and Kumar go to White Castle in 2 and a half hours, downloading a MAME rom for IIDX 4th style right now).

I used to be a crummy-ass user of WinMX for only music, until I found www.electronicscene.com

Too bad ES is closed, but I rarely use P2P stuff now. Anti got me into ABC, which works pretty well, and when I need to find a one song or two on a whim, I'll boot up the 'ol Kazza Lite.
