Word of advice - do not install Norton and McAffee at the same time. They don't play nice together. I installed McAffee on this computer after I got it, unaware that Norton was still installed (I thought my dad uninstalled it). I ran into a whole slew of problems, because every time my computer loaded up, it locked up. I eventually figured out the problem and went into safe mode so I could disable everything to go back into normal mode to uninstall it, but it wasn't fun.

      Moogy: Cleared cache.

Staroceanfreakx: Very nice! The new ad-aware found a lot.

Powerless: Great program. It is a little confuesing as to what to delete, but it was still very useful.

QreepyBORIS: Ad-aware SE ^_^ done. Norton sucks. MacAffee I don't prefer to use. Virus scan, done it twice.

Anyways, I think the ad-aware found many harmful files. Also HijackThis. It has seemed to stop crashing. I can fully listen to all of my 300 stepmania songs now. If it crashes again, I will probably just be so pissed off and frustrated that I will just reformat. Thanks everyone for your help.

The first time I used Adaware 6.0 (this is AFTER having 5.something for a very long time), it found 537 pieces of spyware. Thank god for the "select all" feature.

        Signature subject to change.

        THE ZERRRRRG.

            Hehehe

For some reason I get insane amounts of spyware every now and then.

The first time I checked (about two months after I got my new computer), between Adaware and Spybot, they found around 2400 files.

A few months ago, they found just under 1700 files between them.

And recently, they found about 400.

            Yeah, I don't know.

              Who's there?
The kind of computers that never get spyware, adware, and almost never get viruses.
The kind of computers that never get spyware, adware, and almost never get viruses, who?
              Macintosh.

I'm using a PC and haven't gotten any viruses, worms, trojans, or spyware items yet. Go FreeBSD go.

Anyway... security through obscurity isn't a really good solution.

THIS man uses Ad-aware every single day and his computer never slows down or restarts. He also got rid of his router after calling Microsoft up and them telling him to get rid of his router, go to internet options and delete internet files, cookies, and internet objects that are bad daily, and turn the computer off every night (in other words, not leaving it on for a whole week).

And yes, I was talking in third person ^_^.
