You know what I find about those things LD? Do everything you possibly can at those things. Try to lead, try to be the most valued (usually they have teams). When you finish, you will be happy you did it that way, because as lead, you get to bend a lot of the activities around your ideas.
(I usually start that by taking my Rubix Cube. No one else can do it and so everyone else on my team listens to my suggestions more. A cube shows nothing about that, but somehow it works on the average public. Go figure.)

I went to a camp for 2 weeks (longer, because the car ride was two days, 7 hour ride) no cell phone, no laptop, or anything. If I can do it, you can do it. And i'm sure I probably spend more time on ffr (chat -_- + forums) than you do. Don't worry, when you get back you'll realize not to be so dependant on FFR forums for your life. I thought the same way you did before I left, but I found it good to take a vacation from the computer for a while.

When I had a room by myself, I don't freaking go out. I got a refrigerator in my room with food and I go out only to go to the bathroom, then use the computer at least 20 hours a day. When I run out of stock I just take like 5 minutes to get what I want from hte kitchen. That was my last year's summer.
