This is for anybody who hasn't done a virus/adware/spyware scan in a month or longer. Do a scan RIGHT NOW. Apparantly (sp?) I had viruses on my computer that I didn't know about because I hadn't done a scan in quite some time and now I can't even connect to the internet on my computer (For those lacking intelligence, or those who just haven't figured it out yet, I'm not typing from my computer). I've spent at least 20 hours trying to get it working again, and I've used about 6 different adware scans and 3 anti-virus programs trying to clear everything out. If I can't get it working... I'll have to burn everything I want onto disks and get a new hard drive.. *sigh* If anybody knows anything about the virus that does this, PLEASE let me know. I am running Windows XP Home Edition, if that helps at all for solutions.
You, Virus Scan, NOW

Ahh, thank you, Spazz. You reminded me that I hadn't scanned in awhile. Not only did I find roughly 1400 spyware files between Ad-aware and Spybot, I also uncovered a couple of Trojans that have been annoying little bastards for awhile now. Finally got 'em.Comment

I scanned it twice with both ad-aware and spybot, and i cleared my cache, my cookies and temporary files just yesterday...Truth lies in loneliness, When hope is long gone by -Blind Guardian, The Soulforged

Blah. I never find anything with Spybot or Adaware anymore. I guess immunizations work all to well, eh?
But there was a new Windows Update the other day for XP. I hope everybody got it. If not, do it now.

Are you sure that it is a virus that is preventing you from connecting to the internet?

If it helps at all, I know for a fact its coming from my computer, so chances are it is a virus blocking me. I tried plugging my connection straight into the router, and it still didn't work. I'm going to try a new program and see if that fixes the problem (hopefully it will). Thanks for all of your... "help"
