    Ongoing Forum Event Idea

I was thinking of creating a RPG based forum game, with the following basic premise:

Each day you can do a Job, which earns you gold and mastery of that job. The jobs would be levelable and give better returns as you go. Some jobs will have specific in game benefits, like free items or discounts, and others would give more gold. Mastering lots of jobs would earn you a flat percentage bonus to any job to take. To further promote mastery, the same job cannot be taken on consecutive days.

And of course what would an RPG be without a shop? The saved gold from doing the jobs and gathering loot can be spent in the shop on basic versions of items, or be gambled on magic versions of these items. This part would be inspired by diablo 2 mechanics, but hey, I love that game.

Lastly would be raids or quests, these would happen once or twice a week, and would allow the player to put their stats, equipment, and items to the test to fight enemies and gain loot. Unfortunately, I wouldn't have the capability to make this an active process without some sort of engine to run this out of, but you'd get a line by line of exactly how the fight went down. Maybe if someone else wanted to chip in on that regard, the experience could be a bit richer.

And last but not least, there can be a class system that determines a special ability and the growth rates of the base stats of the character. Classes could be changed whenever a character levels up, allowing for personalization of the character. There would be magic users, fighters, rangers, etc, that have different stats to appeal to different styles of fighting and have that reflected in stat growth.

If anyone would be interested in this, let me know. I could also use a collaborator if there is any interest in this, that could help update players.

If you'd like to see something like this, let me know. Otherwise, oh well. Just a thought.

The simplest way would be for someone to post which job they want to do and I can do an RnG within its payout range to determine gold.

A more active way I could do this is to tie each job to a mini game, like something on Kongragate or something, and your gold would be based on performance. I wouldn't want the games chosen to be too lengthy if I went this route.

I'm open to suggestion to if other people think of better ways to do things.

I could do that, but I'd have to tie challenges to skill level, which the rusty players might have issue with. I was debating whether or not to tie it to FFR.
