2020 Adobe Flash Purge

So I just recently learned about this, Adobe Flash is going to be completely replaced (FROM WHAT I'VE SEEN AND HEARD) in every browser, I'm assuming FFR runs in Adobe Flash Player. What would happen to the game then? This would happen through new updates and stuff like that over a few years' period but still.
I have like, WICKED BAD paranoia sometimes so that's the only reason I'm making this thread and I don't know much about this, looking stuff up won't really help me all too well either. I'm just paranoid and need some answers is all.

I know there's the standalone engines like R^3 and Velocity that run in their own window but is that still Adobe Flash Player as well?

Yes, but it's not being run in a browser.

Congrats on making a thread about this as soon as the previous one fell of the latest threads list.

The worst case scenario for this is flash is nuked and FFR can only played from a third party standalone player, of which there exists at least one that can play FFR with suitable performance and lack of bugs. FFR is safe.

That being said, there's still time for preparation.

Still interested in seeing what the masses do for this sort of thing. There's a lot of content behind flash namely, in-browser games and videos which FFR serves, but not only FFR. Places like Kongregate, Armorgames, and Newgrounds are all in jeopardy from this. Don't know how much it must suck to get online and find out that the thing that makes up 90% of your website is going to get discontinued, and be inaccessible to people running the default settings in the latest patch.

The "simple" answer is somebody makes a flash extension, everybody installs it, and all Adobe has effectively done is dissolved their control over flash.

I know Kongregate, and I would assume the other two both support HTML5. HTML5 has been the "correct" tool of choice for graphics application over web for a decent time now, which has only dented Flash's market share. At least in terms of new content, HTML5 will likely just see an increasing usage, which means new content on those sites should remain, more or less unaffected. The biggest thing being Flash developers might have to learn HTML5. Which will be good for them. Or you know, paragraph 1 will save them, either way.

I wish we would all go back to Macromedia Flash, it was better before Adobe bought it, action script 2 was by far the best programming language to ever grace us as mere mortals
