There's no way humans will still be around in a thousand years. Fuck I'd be surprised if we survive the next four.Back to "Back to Earth"

Re: 3017
Honestly, with the progression of how technology is going. I'd be saying in 1000 years we would have at least a city built entirely on Earth's orbit.
But that's just me thinking sci-fi, but I feel like that's definitely a real thing that could happen by then, for sure.

Re: 3017
Waiting in line for your immortality injection of artificially modified Turritopsis dohrnii jellyfish cells into your DNA at your local clinic letting you have your own transdifferentiation process started to reverse the aging of your cells and cure cancer at same time for the laughs as if it was just a bad joke at this point.
Note that this process would turn you asexual. win/win for government demography laws.

Re: 3017
Oh yeah, aerial cars etc. won't happen until cars can be automatised and modified enough to reach a point where you can queue up a list of destinations and have them fully automated without the need of someone to actually drive it.
Basically, you would start your flying car, update routes automatically and you will find yourself in a parking of your destination without needing to really do anything outside of starting ignition and selecting a destination etc.
The reason is because flying cars will need to follow aerial laws and specific traffic conditions and it's a lot easier to just make the entire driving process automated for security reasons.
Example:
You go in your flying car. You set up a destination. It starts following an aerial set of routes and takes you to your destination on its own.
Flying cars would automatically detect each others and avoid collision etc.
It would also force you to stop at a station before fuel become an issue since running out of fuel in the air is the last thing you want to do.
This could be calculated before going to a destination as well and could impact decisions.
You could view the routes with your advanced GPS and have your windshield generate digitally where are the routes/light system are etc. as they won't have a reason to exist physically. (not worth the cost/maintenance)
So yeah, flying cars are realistic, but not right now.
For 3017, that might be an old topic tho.Last edited by Hakulyte; 01-1-2017, 12:19 AM.
