California has about 39 million people while Canada has about 36 million people

to be fair California has almost every type of climate and it's really big

also california is bigger than japan

Yeah that's pretty crazy considering Canada is like 3+ million miles squared while Cali is only 160+ thousand. But most of Canada is not habitable... unless you're a grizzly man survivalist off grid type but even then, it's just too cold. I have family in Escondido I can see why everyone wants to live down there. Never been to Japan but would love to visit one day.

because california is WAY too crowded or at least southern california and it wouldn't be so crowded if more people lived in places that don't have as many people and i don't like when a lot of people live in the same place

it's not just because Canada is extremely cold that there aren't that many people there; a lot of states with amazing weather like Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana don't have that many people

and i always thought Japan was much bigger since it's an entire country so it's kind of cool that all of japan is smaller than california because it's easier to visit

I can assure you that Alberta (at least southern and western Alberta) is a mirror image of Montana. The weather isn't any more or less amazing haha. Get the stereotype outta here.

Living in Northwest Territories or Nunavut may be a different story though...

Well, the only thing that separates them is a border, right? Climate and weather aren't drawn by lines.

I remember seeing maps of the US in American classrooms showing a bright, green US, and then pretty much a white Canada at the borders. Now -those- maps are a fail!

(my California cousins also used to think that me having more hair was the result of adapting to colder weather lol)

It gets up over 100 degrees in the summer in this part of the country. Canada is not "cold"
