Re: Hello
My brother got me a copy of Empress for my birthday back in May and I have been loving it. Most of my experience comes from 9th and Gold.
I love Ohio, but have only visited a couple of times. If you went there a few months back and played IIDX and Jubeat, i'm guessing it was either at Glass City Con or you went to KDog's arcade. I don't know many places that'll have those machines up there lolComment

Re: Hello
Actually I went to a place called Gotcha Gachapon in Colombus. They had Jubeat Prop, IIDX 22, Guitar Freaks, Drum Mania, Taiko, and some DDR machines.

Re: Hello
I wish there were some good arcades in my area I could go play Beatmania at. The only one around where I live has IIDX 3, and the only time I went there they were repairing it.Comment

Re: Hello
You'll have to ask dAnceguy or Sunfan if they know of any, I don't know northern Alabama that well.
I know Geogia had a scene last I heard, you might be able to day-trip to someplace over there and get a fix.
I'm near Pensaola, east of Mobile and I can promise you there ain't any down here. We have a broken SuperNOVA2 and two broken Pumps and that's it for the scene. I'm gonna to check out Panama City's Dave and Busters tho there's a really slim chance something is out there.Comment

Re: Hello
For now Ill just have to keep playing Empress. Thinking about getting a Beatmania controller with ps2 connector and usb. Got any recommendations?Comment

Re: Hello
Whoa, have you been playing on controller? Ewww lol
I'm guessing that a Dao would be out of your price range, so next best bet is looking on Amazon for a US Beatmania + Controller. If you must play it on PC you can also geta PS2→USB converter on there for like five bucks, but if your already playing on PS2 and haven't played all of Empress yet I'll just focus on that (playing on PC comes with a host of issues that you don't have to worry about on console)
If Amazon doesn't have what you want, playasia.com is also a good source, and so is eBayComment

Re: Hello
I mean, was it the Konami one? They are made of plastic.
Because you ain't finding an arcade like one for less then 400 at best. EDIT oh snap I double checked and Dao's FMP has come down in price . Still really pricy for a new player though
If the Konami one feels really cheap, there are ways to mod it t make it respond closer to the arcade. I've been playing on my modded USKOC since 2008 and while I myself suck at the game and can only pass 9s, I've seen friends nail 12s on itComment
