so i've been thinkin bout this for a while
i never really experienced ffr radio in all its glory (if it ever had any), but i think that with ffr's status as a music game site, we should have something where we share everyone's varied and awesome [citation needed] tastes in music
we could set up a stream for this with proper streaming software but there is another option:

i was introduced to this a few months ago, it's basically what plug.dj (if you've ever heard of that) was but with a more relaxed style
there's already a bot you can use to set an idle playlist, and with the moderation tools it's easy to set up events like actual DJ sets, free-for-alls, etc
anyway, feel free to discuss/shittalk/whatever, this may be in the wrong forum idk

fiffer radio can be run by any ordinary user

Scintill in the past has hosted fiffer radio but I'm not sure if he still does

ive never seen FFR radio playing either... agree it should be a thing again if it ever took off in the first place.

I would love to see it active. It actually was around 2007 and I remember enjoying it over profile chat.


I would probably learn to DJ on the weekends while I'm stuck at work and give at least a little credit to the name MixMaster lol

This oddcast3 flash thingamajig has a buffer that refreshes every 2 minutes, causing a second of silence.

I might be talking out of my arse, technical-wise; I haven't seen the backend.

Sounds like a cool place to hang. I already like dubtrack.fm much, much more than plug.dj. Much less stressful. An official FFR stream via this domain, if that's what is implied by using winamp, would also be neat! Should we just like, go ahead and make a channel on dubtrack?

people mentioning winamp are talking about the old way of creating an online radio channel
dubtrack doesn't create streams, it just plays youtube vids and soundcloud uploads chosen by whoever is in the room at the time

anyway, it sounds like there's enough interest to make this worthwhile, so i just need to figure out how to set up the bot (it's this thing if anyone else wants to take a stab at it) so there's an established idle tracklist before it goes live
on that note, if anyone has music recommendations go ahead; otherwise i'll probably fill it up with blanket permission artists/labels for the time being
