Senior year doesn't live up to the hype. There's really only one good thing about it (that is if your school has any kind of budget at all) and that is the day you graduate.
You sit there for 3-5 hour listening to stupid people telling you how proud they are and crap like that but you don't listen because you've snuck in your GBA...
Then your name is called and it's this big climactic event and all the idiots are thinking to themselves "Don't trip. Don't trip" and you just can't help but try to make them trip to no avail. (By the way these sentences are run-on for a reason.)
Then you sit forever. Nothing happens for a while. Nothing happens. Graduation is over and your parents take an endless number of pictures for no reason. They proceed to buy you dinner and give you money. Dinner is too crowded due to all the other graduates and the money is like 50 bucks.
Then the pinnacle of schooling life comes: Your All-Night Graduation Party. This was so awesome at our school. They convert the entire school to an 18-year old's playground. At ours they had a full casino and plenty of free food and drinks (Real food. Not cafeteria food.) It's basically your last chance to talk to your classmates in the best setting ever.
Oh, right, and most ANG parties have stores donate things as giveaways. At ours prizes included: Xbox console, TV/DVD combo, DVD player, Stereo, iPOD, Prepaid Cellphones, and mini-fridges (I so wanted one.) I didn't win anything because they were completely unorganized and completely left out about 400 out of the 450 kids there out of the raffle. Cheapskates.

Dude, you guys, High School is NOT that different. Going from Elementary to Middle is a big leap, but Middle to High is nothing. High School is a TON better, IMO. In Middle School I had to do work that seemed hard at the time, the teachers treated us like little kids, and most of the kids were assholes. In High school I have to do work that seems just about as hard (sometimes easier, actually), the teachers treat you like normal human beings (have serious or fun discussions with you, give less busy work, etc), and the kids who are still major assholes are shunned.
I just suggest that you don't act out. Seniors hate that shit. I've been a senior for 2 years so far and we all hate when damn freshmen act all high and mighty (well, kind of. My school just opened. I'll be in the first graduating class, meaning that I've been one of the oldest kids at the school for the past couple years. I'll officially be a senior next year, but sophomore and junior year I felt like a senior anyway)So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(
In less-depressing news, I got a job for an online business (which sells non-electronic games, of all things!) which has taught me a lot about marketing online and all that jazz.
So now I'm on Twitter @NoahWright.
And I write the blog for their website.
Plus I do cool programming in-house that you'll never see. =OComment

Not during the first year of high school. You will get the respect on your Junior year, but mostly senior.Originally posted by evilbutterflythe teachers treat you like normal human beings
So HVAM, expect seniors and sometimes juniors to yell "Freshman suck" during school assemblies. I've seen them in all high schools I've been to.You cannot possibly have a room any better than this.Comment
