Ever since I hit my body's limit/skill ceiling a while back, I have been playing really casually. When I say that, I mean I was never able to get that final skill boost needed to transcend from mid D7 to high D7 so I took a break. By the time the official comes I plan on breaking my previous skill ceiling. I have my own way of getting conditioned once again (mashing), but I am curious to hear how other people think they derust best.

this may sound dumb but here's how i see things when i play
there's only 5 patterns i need to focus on, each pattern for 1 hand and mirrored to the other, the first being 12, then 21, 11, 22 and (12) for the left. (and then 34, 43, 33, 44, (34) for the right) i focus on whichever hand is lagging behind with rust and try to get them to move quickly on 12 21 and (12) patterns
so overall i play jumpstream files to derust and suffer forever on jacks because i never play jack filesComment

Mashing is easily one of the dumbest ways of derusting because you aren't conditioning anything other than your arm stamina. Rates is a good way to derust a previous speed potential, slowing speedmod or raising speedmod helps with readability to whatever speedmod you currently use, and my favorite, the "next division up" charts are easily the best to derust on, because you work on your muscle memory, speed, consistency; though you cannot be a fucking moron and start mashing because it defeats any purpose of derusting as a whole.

Acids are good at removing rust. Try white vinegar for a light application, or something heavier like oxalic acid if the layer of rust is very thick.
Physical abraision also works, such as sandpaper.
