    Why am I lagging?...

    I'm getting forced goods from game lag and it's nothing to do with my system. I tried the standalone and it's even worse. I take it the game just has a shitty engine or is there actually something I can do because this is 'a bit' annoying.

          Still got quite a bit of goods but I suspect that's from me playing my most hated song kidney stone lol

                  Which FFR engine do you use? There's a difference in how well each engine flows in comparison to the other engines. The R^3 engine is in its beta stage, so it sometimes doesn't flow as well as Velocity or Legacy. I don't think it's the engines themselves that are causing you to lag though because FFR Legacy usually flows well for me.

                      It's subjective to some extent but I suppose there's no harm in mentioning since you're trying out a standalone flash player
                      that some versions of flash are more optimized for certain operating systems than others.
                      Say for example if you're running Windows 8; Flash 12 seems to perform much more effectively than 10 or 11.
                      The general consensus seems to be that 9 is the most reliable across all OS but you'll lose access to a feature or two if you're using the R^3 engine (namely the rate option).

                          Two things I do in the standalone are to set the quality to low and reduce the resultion of the program. Seriously I use the standalone at 480x320 lol

                          It makes the arrows nice and big too

                                  Well my PC was only built a few days ago and I have 8GB ddr3 vengence 2400mhz ram, evga gtx780, i5 4670k oc'ed to 4.4ghz and i use the low res engine with low quality. I just tried the velocity engine and it worked okay for a few games then lag just hit me again. I'm running windows 7 also if that helps.

                                      I assume you read through the link Friction posted and disabled aero theme?
                                      The transparent taskbar and windows are usually the biggest cause of lag on Windows 7.
                                      Try using the classic theme if you haven't already and see if that helps.
