I'm holding what I have and waiting for a correction to buy back in. If the correction never comes, well, I'll still be making money. Technically, you can STILL buy in... you can buy fractions of a bitcoin, so you don't necessarily have to pay $1,000 for a full coin.

Someone outline the process for me: How do you buy bitcoin, and how do you sell it for actual money? I'm curious how the process works.

        Re: Bitcoin $1K 7

Basically you are assigned two keys when you run the software, one acts as an address that people can send coins to and the other as a private identifier. It then combines your private key and their public key with the bitcoins being transfered and sends that data out over the network so other clients track and verify the transaction.

From there the transaction is pretty straightforward. Find buyer/seller, Exchange keys, etc.

There's also websites with open exchanges, buying/selling of bitcoins that are pretty fast. MTgox is one of em, but there's tons of others.

            out.

also, we'll see what happens when value is placed on something that has no inherent value in and of itself...

"Inherent value" doesn't exist. Things have value if we think they do.

They've gone up 11.5% in 24 freaking hours...

                        Hyperinflation much?

(well actually kinda the reverse, cause it's getting upvalued, not devalued)

If anyone has bitcoin around and doesn't cash out soon they are idiots.

This kind of hyperinflation will only end in one way. At the rate its going bitcoin will not be stable for many years to come, meaning it is pointless to use as a form of currency.

How about we get everyone to sell, so when it drops, I can buy a lot, then everyone can buy them back and inflate things again okay??
