It's not WHY they're trying to make a case against it, it's what they're choosing as "evidence" to back the claims up, which are just some weird correlations which make the whole studies look bad. imo at leest.

Video games aren't the cause of schizoid/deviant behaviour...that's a little ridiculous. It's like saying getting a tattoo will lead to a future of violent crime (since a huge percentage of criminals have tattoos). At the very extreme, I would say video games can aggravate an anti-social person's "me versus everyone" mentality when said person should get help for obvious psychosocial problems. Pregnant women shouldn't drink...maybe crazy people should stay away from violent games rofl idk


I definitely think video games are an attractive hobby for disconnected/anti-social people though. So it's more likely that a teenager who fits the bill for having a psychotic outburst will also be into isolating/obsessive activities like video games or reading a shit-ton of books etc.

I love how whenever they do try a logical, any-where-near scientific research on games causing violence it almost always proves that the more violent the game the less likely you are to commit crime. Seriously go Google actual studies and that's all you are going to read for the next 4 hours.

Although I guess you could say that GTA3 saves more lives then DDR3RD KOREA so yeah...
