Twitter just always seemed like an attention site to me. Facebook is a large online forum where I can talk with people to discuss when events are happening and such.
For facebook I don't post many statuses, but I do check it often to see if anything comes up.

I would have expected the twitter fad to die forever ago. I don't plan on ever using one. You'd really have to be expecting a lot of people to care about what you do every day to be useful.
