Indiana GOP passes law making it a crime for clergy to perform gay weddings

Yikes, and just when you've thought you've seen everything, something like this happens... this is absolutely appalling. Despite previous efforts and some noticeable progress with DOMA being ruled unconstitutional and twelve states allowing same-sex marriage, forceful changes like this still happen across the US.

Looks like I'll have to move when I want to get married.

Pretty dumb. I'll have to follow this and see if I can't vote on it next year. I'll need an absentee ballot. :/ Oh well.

When the game isn't fun for you anymore, take a break. It's not a job, nobody here is professional and getting paid to play and force themselves to constantly improve... it's a game.

I find it odd how most costal cities/states tend to be more liberal and how almost the entire GOP is located inland

Just a stab, but I'm guessing it has to do with 1) a history of settlers moving west with progressive values and 2) a concentration of foreigners and immigrants in the coastal areas of the US.

Regarding the topic, it's horrible, but they're on the wrong side of history anyway. Bigoted opinions like these are going to be the odd ones out.

it has to do with people being more liberal in denser populations

These are not new laws. The code was recodified which is apparently why these are being treated as new. These laws have been on the books since at least 1997.

The bigots (and the GOP) will lose in the long run and be dismissed to the dustbin of history. Unfortunately, social change is slow and tends to come in waves as generation die off.
