Before people would just spread rumors and gossip with eachother face to face. This doesn't really change much except it is easier to ignore.
Hiding behind a veil of anonymity makes the whole behavior much more pernicious. Might be easier to ignore, but social networks somewhat constructs a thread of information that facilitates the spreading of vile gossips.
Basically, the past few days at my college have been a realistic recreation of George Orwell's 1984. There's no going around without Big Brother watching you.
Two complicated solutions to avoid being "spotted" :
1. Wear one of the bracelet thingys like in the movies that shuts off all electronics in a 5 mile radeius around you
2. Whenever you see someone just gouge their eyes out boom boom
keep ur head up or down whatevers most comfortable idk but ya i repsect u cuz u respect others and we all have opinions to share, so respect one another and keep being urself or someone else watever

I only found out that my university had a confessions page when I was hanging out with some math peeps and they were laughing about the messages people had posted. I don't think I found any that they mentioned to be truly funny, and most were just people expressing their hatred for certain others.
They told me I should have FB so I can post confessions too, etc., but if I have any confessions to make about my university I will probably just declare them in person or not at all.
Am I mistaken, or is this not a forum board?
I mean, I'm not mad or anything, I'm just really concerned about this community. I realize some of you guys have been brainwashed by imageboards and can't really remember what's it like to share a real conversation, but if I recall correctly, the basic of a forum is to arise some form of exchange called a 'discussion'.
Some of you are basically shitting on a topic that honestly isn't far from one of the more recent active thread: http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...d.php?t=129782
So what's the deal? Ok, yes, I agree that my approach at the subject isn't appropriate to spawn proper discussion, I might as well just have said something along 'lol look at dis crap' and dumped a link or two in there, but I'm sure most of you wouldn't have cared much about giving your opinions anyway.
Does it really hurt that much to give any substantial value to your posts here? Not saying you guys are uneducated (I'm sure you all are very interesting IRL) but you do have some strange ways to say you're not interested in talking about something.
Anyway, my point is, if you wonder why there's not many newcomers that stay on the forums, there's no use looking far.
/2cents done and gone.
(Thanks to everybody that took the time to discuss about the subject though, your opinion is much appreciated.)
