I'm gonna write a doctoral thesis on why everyone here is so smrt
Here I will write it for you.
Title: Sampling Bias on internet music game forums.
Sampling bias is a bias in which a sample is collected in such a way that some members of the intended population are less likely to be included than others. It results in a biased sample, a non-random sample of a population (or non-human factors) in which all individuals, or instances, were not equally likely to have been selected. If this is not accounted for, results can be erroneously attributed to the phenomenon under study rather than to the method of sampling.
Methods: Some guy made a thread on FFR about SAT scores. A sample of scores were collected and analyzed. The difference between mean score of the population and the mean of reported scores on FFR was statistically significant (p=0.000000.....1)
Discussion: The results are a clear demonstration of sampling bias that is threefold. First off, people that are more intelligent than average tend to surf internet forums with the goal of posting something for others to read. Secondly, people that post their scores in SAT score threads tend to have high scores because people that are embarrassed about their scores aren't going to post them. Thirdly, some people lie and inflate their scores, kinda like penis size.
my SAT score progression went: 1930 --> 2000 --> 2300 lol
act is easier imo
the trick? collegeconfidential.com, know the secrets, practice math if you aren't good at, read sample essays. SAT essay is the most gameable thing in existence
I scored 2180 on the SAT - need to sift through and find the ACT score I got last year, but my fantastic organizational skills won't allow that to happen. But I do believe I either scored 30-31 on the ACT
I believe math was my lowest scoring section: CR: 800 / W: 750 / M: 630.
I'm horrible at math.
