I have a wicked leg disorder that makes my legs get incredibly sore a lot faster than the normal person. That being said I work at a job that doesnt have a single chair in the facility, no 30 minute break, and you're expected to move as fast as you can your entire shift. I work 47 hours next week.

              Sounds like my last job.

How many hours do you work per week? How many hours at school?

You also might want to be careful with stress once you get sick. At my last job, I was sick with bacterial pneumonia for 2 weeks back in July because I caught someone's cold (don't know if it came from a guest or a co-worker). My doctor barred me from working (because it's in a stressful environment) for 2 weeks. I lost ~$500 in 2 week's pay because of that. I averaged 60-70 hours bi-weekly (no overtime was allowed unless they absolutely needed someone).

When I was an undergrad, I had a massive courseload and worked 40 hrs per week on top of that.

There's no easy way around it. You're going to get less sleep, and you're going to feel like shit if you procrastinate at any point because time is way too precious to waste.

Wake up earlier, go to sleep earlier. Try to find work where you can also get schoolwork done at the same time (I worked as a campus tech guy so I could staff a lab for work study and do homework). Eat well and don't take down a bunch of crap that's going to make you crash later.

                        Re: mad stress

I've finally adjusted my work hours (I basically said either I'm quitting, or you give me less than 20 hours a week while I'm in school), but before that I was working 35-40 hour weeks on top of school which consisted of 5 ongoing projects which would normally take 16 or more hours each, so it was basically physically impossible for me to spend the amount of time needed on homework while working so much. I pulled a lot of allnighters x_X but yeah, if it's too much, ask if your work can help you out a bit? Or ask co-workers if anyone's available to cover if you really do need a break. Other than that, keep motivated and you can do it :P

but more seriously, if you are enjoying what you are doing while you are working, then you might not feel the stress as much. Even if you have to trick yourself into enjoying what you do, you probably should find something good in what you are doing.

i enjoy my work quite a lot which is why i don't reallly wanna do that but it might be what i have to do

honestly i just want a week vacation lol.

the main reason i crashed and posted this, though, is because of work related bullshit. i fucking love the work i do but there's this one guy i work with whom i always seem to clash with, without even trying. it is frustrating to no end, but i don't really want to leave a job i like just because i repeatedly clash with one person who i am not going to be working with eventually.

maybe i'm just having "one of those weeks" or something. i don't know. but if i posted what my work conflict was here there likely wouldn't be a lot of support for the other person's side. i did say in my op that it was the result of stress which is partially true; i have been more prone to snapping at people lately, namely my girlfriend and close friends. i haven't exactly been snapping at people at work, however. i work in an environment where a high level of respect is expected from people whom are relatively new to the job, and i have only partially adjusted to this.. the level of stress in my life right now isn't making it any easier to adjust, though.

nevertheless, i'm trying as hard as i can! last night, i was "on the verge of getting fired" because i told a front of house staff (im a restaurant guy) that a dish i had prepared which had a specific mod (which they had requested AGAIN) had already been sent out, which it had. their response: "don't talk back to front of house staff! if we ask from something just do it." they said this to me while i was in the process of re-making the dish. i didn't attempt to be rude. i may have spoken loudly because it was extremely busy at this point, though. i can't entirely remember. would i really have been doing my job had i said nothing? what if we get a complaint?

another thing: like i said, i have been at this job for less than a month. last night's service for me was almost perfect: great mise en place (prep), relatively good order times, good attitude towards back of house people etc... and then i forget to pay for a 6 dollar salad from a few nights ago, and my lead takes it upon himself (the lead is not my boss btw, just my superior) to completely chew me out for forgetting to pay for a 6 dollar salad. wat da fuk. i ended up paying for it and tipping 3 bucks. this was AFTER i had come in on my day off the day before, and AFTER i had done a great service. i know plenty of restaurants where cooks eat for free, so idk what to think about this.
