    Online penny auctions

    Anyone else do them?
I just won my first thing on dealdash.

I won a $25 giftcard to any of 4 nice restaurants near me + 25 bids to use on other stuff and it only cost me $1.94 :3
And I only spent about 15 bids on it so in reality I gained money.

It's pretty fun, and it's almost a guaranteed payoff as long as you arent retarded.

They seem pretty fishy. I don't know any urls for any either.

They're legit if you know which ones.
My mom's won a $250 walmart card for less than $20 and like five $10 coffee store cards for $.01. They've all already come in the mail and they worked fine.

Free money from the internet brings back memories.
I used to play games at uproar.com (no longer exists now) when I was ~14. I won money from them multiple times. I played something called Puzzle-A-Go-Go. Every 10 minutes there was wheel of fortune/hangman game, and if you won in your group of 3, you got 1 entry. Draws were every 2 hours for 5$. They mailed me hand signed checks.
I then moved to uproar.co.uk and won 3 pounds a few times, after uproar.com became larger and turned into one of those 'you can win 10,000$ with ridiculously low odds if you play our games'.

I've seen ads for these kind of sites on the television (namely Beezid.com) and I've checked them out. To be honest they look somewhat rigged. Getting an HDTV for $5 sounds neat until you figure out that the bids are $1 each and you end up using a few hundred to try to win the TV.
My guess is that there's a script running in the background that only allows the auction to end after a set number of bids has been reached.

Bids are normally 60 cents each. However the site i use runs deals a lot, and I actually bought 200 bids for only $36( 18 cents each) so it really isnt that costly.

I would file this under you might get a good deal or you might get ripped off.

Seems like you've been pretty successful with it so far though so congrats.

Worst thing I did was a penny auction.
it was urgent because i wanted it fixed fast.
