    Computer Specs for Custom Build

Hi there fellow FFR players. I really need some help here. I plan on putting together a custom gaming PC to play some really hardcore games (Arma 2 max graphics, BF3 Ultra, etc). I managed to put together a list of parts after chatting with some tech savvy friends. I'd like some more opinions though just to be sure that the parts I buy will run what I want them to run (First time building custom)

    The parts are as followed:

    -Nivida Geforce GTX 680
-Intel Core i7-3770 Processor (8M Cache, up to 3.90 GHz)
    -Gigabyte Intel X58/Intel ICH10R Intel X58 ATX DDR3 2200 LGA 1366 Motherboard (GA-X58A-UD3R)
    -Vengence - 32GB Quad Channel DDR3 Memory Kit (CMZ32GX3M4X1866C10R)
    -Enthusiast Series TX850 V2 PSU
    -Seagate Barracuda 7200 1 TB 7200RPM SATA 6 Gb/s NCQ 64MB Cache 3.5-Inch Internal Bare Drive ST1000DM003

(This is excluding the case, mouse, keyboard, monitors, etc)

Some feed back would be greatly appreciated !!

    Thank you in advance.

you honestly dont need 32 gigs of ram unless you are rendering the entire lord of the rings series. other then that, thats a sick build.

You don't need that much RAM and buy a SSD instead.

also, shouldn't this be in bits & bytes?

First, that motherboard will not support the processor you are building it around. You need to make sure it is LGA1155 and not 1366. SEE HERE for a list of GB boards that will support that CPU. Also, for 20$ more you can get a 3770K which will allow you to overclock the CPU well over 4.3 GHZ with good cooling.

If you do go with that much RAM make sure you run windows 7 PRO, not home premium(16 GB limit)

These newer boards support http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smart_Response_Technology you could purchase a smaller SSD and have it cache for you. I would personally buy a Solid State Drive for OS and common games. Leave the TB for data non important programs. Your motherboard supports RAID as well. Running 2 Hard Drives in a striped RAID configuration will give you a nice bit of performance.

You may want to consider upping the PSU now if you plan on going SLI with 2 680's they will strain your PSU.

          Pretty much what ElRayford said

I definitely agree though that 32 GB is overkill even for the overkill. I have 12 GB in my desktop gaming machine and I very, very rarely need more than 8 or 9 unless I am being lazy and running a bunch of crap at once. Most of the time I'm operating between 2 and 6 or so. 32 = wayyyy out there.
