Re: Question about splurges ($$$$$?)
I do agree with this, if you end up liking a game, you can purchase it, and I do actually pay for computer games if I feel the company deserves my support (100+ steam games, 10+ big-name out-of-steam games).Originally posted by subinGet a hacked version on PC. That's what I did, and it worked fine.
That being said, Skyrim held my interest for ~2 weeks (less than 1 before modding it) before I decided that it was not for me and will not be worth a purchase.
PS: Subin, I do think the issue here is also that she is un-able to run skyrim on her laptop... regardless give the pirated version a try to see if you COULD run it and if you can, give it a good playthrough to see how you like it.
@OP: If you really want something it's good to spend it on yourself. I myself spent about 50 bucks AT THE MOST per month on myself while the rest all flows into my bank account. As long as you are in the green, and have a steady income and know how long it will take you to "bounce back", such a spending spree should be doable, if not even beneficial if you really want something. Save your money and then invest in a moderate gaming computer. It is way more worthwhile. I'd even help you pick out compatible hardware that would only cost around $500 but be able to play skyrim like a charm.Comment

damn bro just caused you goofed up doesn't mean you should encourage others...
ok seriously? i need to figure out what it takes to get a Visa in Canada
as for a gaming system, i would advise against it. $300 is enough to invest in something that could potentially make/save you more money/time, for example making crafts or planting a garden. video games only take time out of your day and to what result? nothing tangible (unless you sell accounts on an MMO)Originally posted by topwhat the hell happened to alden

Other non-BS answer: If your boyfriend wants you to get it so bad, why not just have him buy it for you?Originally posted by Crashfan3Man, what would we do without bored rednecks?Comment

Re: Question about splurges ($$$$$?)
actually, lookng back, I think I did own stuff like Metroid, etc. Which did you play?
But yeah I agree, in general it's silly to buy a system for one game, especially if you're blowing $300 on it.Comment

Re: Question about splurges ($$$$$?)
I played resident evil 4 on the gamecube quite a lot. Other than that just thousands of hours of pso and super smash bros.
Really though, don't buy the system. Buy a computer instead.
Here is a guide. Around the 450-500 dollar range you will be able to play skyrim.
