Recommend me a new camera

So a few days ago my video camera finally went kaput. It was a Panasonic SDR-S7 and it served me well for about 2 or 3 years and now I'm looking for a new camera, but my problem now is everything is massively expensive (I looked. Probably at the wrong sites but I looked, and I wasn't happy with what i saw xD). My camera cost around $200 give or take (that's what my dad told me when he got it for me on christmas 2 or 3 years ago) and I figure with technology advancing I should be able to get one with nice quality like I had but perhaps a bit cheaper.

tl;dr:
They don't make Panasonic SDR-S7 camera's anymore, mine broke, and so I just want to know if anyone here has a nice one that isn't too expensive that they would recommend

Not anything in particular, but just go around to various stores in your area and see if they have any sales on various things. They aren't always advertised and sometimes you have to go there in person to see some item is on sale. If you're only looking at online stuff you won't find these kinds of sales because typically they won't have many in stock and they're just trying to get rid of the last few. Not some major advertised sale.

Another thing you can try is are there any businesses in your area which are going out of business? You may get some good deals from them. Like, 90% off or such, just depends how desperate they are to liquidate inventory.

There's also Big Lots (if you have those in your area) -- very random stuff there but a good deal IF they have what you want. Probably the best prices around. Definitely better prices than Walmart (what most people think of as having low prices).

If you're okay buying used, then craigslist, ebay, pawn shops, flea markets, etc...

I remember samurai7694 getting his camera for like $150 i believe and it runs on 720p with max settings iirc
