    GAH I'm fat

I'm getting downright fat. I mind especially now because I'm getting married in 7 months (yay!) and I just don't want to be a porker bride.

As I've posted before I'm not very energetic. I'm seriously hoping it's due to my celiac disease, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coeliac_disease, but by the time I heal enough to start to feel good again it'll be too late to buy a dress. (I SHOULD have been gluten-free for 4 months now, but my qagkrjbgw;bglrjbwe health system is SHIT and so I've been gorging on white breads and all that junk food I will never get to eat again for the past 6 weeks, gaining 15 pounds and feeling like ass and I STILL don't have a ****ing biopsy appointment...RAAAAWR) Anyways...

I need to lose weight FAST if I want to buy or get a dress made and have it close to the size I want to be at my wedding. Like, if I buy a dress in 2 months, and then lose 40 pounds between that and the wedding, my dress could have some serious fit issues that even a professional seamstress might have problems fitting right. Obviously just keeping at a good weight will require work too, so lose weight fast and be able to keep it off for half a year.

Ideally I want to be 130~135lbs. I'd be happy with 150lbs. Realistically 170 is what I will probably get to without TOO much effort. But I'm 205 right now. Ewwwwww
I can lose those top 10 lbs with very little effort, but everything after that top loss will be like pulling teeth.

    So, 205-150= 55lbs I want to lose in like, 2 months, 3 tops. That's quite a bit.
I can cut most carbs from my diet pretty easily now. (Well, it's hard, but since every carb product except rice now costs twice as much to get a gluten free version, and since I'm cheap, it's a lot easier to do.) But I still love to eat. It's my favorite past-time.

And the excersise thing kills me. I hate excersising for the sake of excersise...it's really really boring. But I might just have to

I'm thinking of taking up a martial arts, but that will only be a couple classes a week. Me and my fiance have started to use the tennis court nearby a couple times a week. But that's really not a whole lotta excersise. I already walk to the grocery store (the only place I need to go to regularly TO walk to.)

I need ideas for fun, (or at least not drudgery), physical things to do, and any idea of how to keep my energy levels up so that I'll actually do them. (I prefer no caffeine or other drug stimulants. I need to heal as best I can. Any sort of drug will probably just slow down the process.)

I've considered and rejected getting a physically active job for the summer. My nerve's are damaged and constant excersise that even working at Tim Horton's makes my hands/arms pain really bad...which also means they're getting damaged; no thanks. (Plus it's very slim pickings for jobs anyways.)

I've thought about fasting to lose weight quickly. It could potentially be a huge bonus for my celiac disease too. I've done it once before for a week, (not for weight loss,) but I gained all the weight I lost back within 2 weeks because it ****s up my metabolism. I was even more lethargic than I usually am, and any sort of intense excersise is a huge no-no if you're fasting. I'll also lose muscle tone. BUT, I can lose a ton of weight fast, if even half of it would stay off it would still be like a pound/day of fasting.

Edit: Style of dress that I'm looking to wear http://www.9lover.com/shop/wedding-d...gown-9072.html
I'm unsure how flattering that type of dress is on fat women. At least I still have a decent shape to me even while fat.

    Re: GAH I'm fat

Well, I lost 20 pounds in 2 months about a year and a half ago and kept all of it off. I've actually been hitting the gym a ton over the past year and have bulked up a lot, so I'm on a cutting regime again, so this is pretty familiar territory for me.

Assuming you're of about average height, you'll want your calories under 1700/day for fat loss with moderate exercise, but I suggest closely monitoring your weight (at the same time every day) to make sure you're not losing weight much faster than 2-2.5 pounds a week or so. Fasting is not an effective weight loss tool as pretty much everyone gains it back. As such, I probably wouldn't go for anything under 1500 cal/day, because you'll tank weight at an unhealthy rate.

So honestly, your goal of 150 in 2 months is completely unrealistic and rather unhealthy. 180 would be a good goal. You'd have to consume dangerously low levels of carbohydrates to hit 150, and if you're worried about your energy levels, that would be exactly why you have none (even if you dehydrated yourself and sat on much less than 1000 cal/day, I don't think you'll hit 150 in 2 months). I've never seen anyone lose weight that quickly, let alone keep it off, other than on the "Biggest Loser", but that's pretty unrealistic (they're locked up with a personal trainer. Also, many of them are nearly twice the size of you, meaning they can take weight off much faster).

Weight loss is basically just a calorie calculation, so you don't necessarily need to do a lot of exercise to lose weight. If your caloric intake is significantly less than what you're spending, you'll lose weight regardless of exercise level. With that said, when you lose weight quickly you'll usually undergo quite a bit of muscle wasting, which will make you continue to look 'flabby' despite being down a lot of weight. As such, I can't recommend weight/resistance training enough + making sure you get your daily recommended protein, because it will help prevent muscle wasting and you'll look a lot better as the weight starts to come off.

A lot of women avoid weight training because they fall into the trap of believing it'll make them look muscular...but I assure you, that is not the case. Lifting a few weights won't make you muscular lol (oh god I wish that was the case).

The added benefit of weight training is it doesn't take that much time either. You can do a workout in 30 minutes, and you don't need to do it more than 3x a week. Gives you a good break from the cardio training (you should still make sure you're getting in a decent amount of cardio). Honestly, I don't do a ton of cardio, but I'm more concerned about losing fat at a very slow pace to maintain muscle mass (I run up and down the stairs with dumbbells for about 15-20 minutes 2x/wk), so you'll probably want to do at least 30 minutes of cardio 3x a week.

Good luck! Make sure to take some before/progress pictures. It's really rewarding to see the changes as the weight comes off.

      Re: GAH I'm fat

Yo bro, I got you. There are a LOTTTT of options out there. For now, I'd just start cutting out extra carbs, get your carbs in before 3pm, get lots of servings of veggies, and have a protein with all your carbs. Drink lots of water. Don't worry too much about fruits, but get a multivitamin. And they do work well as a snack, along with cheese sticks or reasonable amounts of peanut butter. Start getting 15-20 minutes of some exercises everyday, like taking a walk or some simple jumping jacks/push ups to get your heart rate up. I expect if you stick to this you'll see results pretty quick, in a couple days. You could lose 20 lbs in a couple months easy.

Then you can move on to weights/ more intense cardio once you are more motivated. I personally like lifting weights a lot. If you hit your major muscles, you start burning off everything.

      WILL BE CHECKING BACK.

(p . s. , you will learn to like exercising) i'd wait to do a really fun activity until you have a good base fitness level, cause it will probably kick your ass more than you know

Losing 35 lbs in 2 months isn't something you're going to do "without too much effort."

I don't mean to sound harsh, but the whole OP reads like "I want to lose a tonne of weight while putting in none of the effort required to do it, living by none of the rules other people need to to lose weight, and having a blast while it happens on its own without me doing anything."

It's not going to happen. What this is, is a case of someone already knowing how to lose weight and simply needing to man up.

That said, the other posters did give some good advice, and you should follow it if you want to see success.

Im gonna be honest and say that ITG and DDR are the only reasons Im not over 200 pounds (Im 5'10" 170lb)

Once you learn heavy on DDR, the average 1 1/2 minute song burns 25~ calories, with some of the boss songs burning like 60

I burned over 3500 calories in one day playing ITG for 9ish hours

I have the opposite problem. I am trying to gain weight but I'm always at 125 lbs. I exercise as much as I can and I eat a lot, but I fail to gain weight. Any advice?

In response to the OP, pretty much what everyone said. I think 180 is probably a reasonable spot to be in by that time.

I'm guessing you're trying to put on muscle. The generally accepted method is to intake at least 500 more calories/day than you're burning (would need your height to estimate, but ~3000 cal/day), lift heavy weights (8-12 reps, 3-4 sets) 2-3 times a week and aim for more than 1 g of protein daily for every kg you weigh (so 60+ g/day).

Weight loss is similar; at least 500 less calories/day than you're burning, lift lighter weights, aim for 1 g/kg protein and do cardio at least 3x a week.

@ wilson, you're asian. Nuff said basically. My roommate has the same problem.

I'm ~170lbs, 6'0". I have basically no muscle mass, lots of random flubber. My hips are wide as hell. I have the worst bone structure I look like a lozenge basically.
The issue is I don't exercise cause I'm lazy. Mostly it's cause I'm really self conscious and I never felt comfortable exercising around other people, but other people would be the only thing pushing me to exercise. I also don't own any exercise equipment or have a nearby gym I can go to, so that doesn't help either.

                      Re: GAH I'm fat

I recommend in Wilson's case, just eat a lot of protein and some good healthy meals, getting a lot of early carbs out before your afternoon workout will definitely help you out. Plus, you'll gain a lot of extra muscle along the way. Nothing comes without work sadly, we have to make due.

I weighed around 200 in December 2010 and cutting down the best I could got me down to about 170 by the beginning of last year and 155 by the start of school last September. Going to the gym 6 times a week and I now weigh 181 lb, and I've been able to keep myself to ~15% body fat from the 25% I had before my workout regime.

To lose weight though, especially that much, you're going to need to exercise. There's no other healthy way to lose that much weight. Your diet will be key as well, eating apples, any sort of berries, some spicy food (not too much though), and green tea can all help improve your metabolism.

The effect of spicy food on your metabolism is almost non-existent. Don't rely on gimmicks when dieting. Watch your diet and count your calories until you have found out how much you're eating, and then cut your portions as is needed to create deficit based on your exercise schedule.
