    Question for anyone who solders

Where do you solder? I don't mean "where on the item you're soldering" but I mean "where are you location-wise".

Are you in your house? Outside? In your garage? On a porch? In a shed? Outside under a canopy? In a warehouse? Somewhere completely different?

I'm trying to figure out where a good place would be to solder. "In the house" is probably a bad idea because of the fumes + risk of fire. Outside could be bad because of wind, leaves or other debris landing on your work, bird poops, etc... but a canopy might fix some of that. Garage may/may not be a good idea - if garage, I'm thinking garage door should be open.

Just where is your soldering location? (Also perhaps how is your setup? (clamps, soldering iron(s), other tools you use, etc...)) Advice, recommendations, etc??

I have a basic idea of what to do and what I need (I think) but unsure of where would be a good place to do it. Also anything else you'd like to add would perhaps help.

Somewhere that's well ventilated and well lit. Otherwise it really doesn't matter too much. It's probably safe to do it in a garage or a workbench.

You can do it inside, just make sure that if there's something behind the spot you're soldering (such as flammable materials), you put a damp rag on there to prevent it from catching fire or melting. Try to make it a well ventilated place in case of harmful fumes.

I've soldered in my house before, didn't do anything.

I usually solder in the bathroom with the fan on. Few flammables, good ventilation and there's a tap right next to me if anything goes pear-shaped.
