Re: Nope.
Amnesia sorta sucked (In scare factor, it was still fun though) once the trigger points became obvious =/
I could pretty much predict 80% of what was going to happen and the other 20% became all too obvious and repetitive

Re: Nope.
The game had a strong opening... the water monster sequence and the "Storage" level made me piss myself. The prison/morgue were kinda eerie too, but the rest of the game was pretty tame and the last third of the game was a bit numb. By then, nothing scares you anymore.Comment

Re: Nope.
youtube videos of screaming british people hyped this game so much.
games that rely solely on jump-scares arn't my favorite genre. still exciting - especially when you get so batshit scared you can hear your own heartbeat in irl xDComment

Re: Nope.
I don't think Amnesia relies on that. That's more your Doom 3 scare strat.
Amnesia was mainly an appeal to your imagination. Enemies didn't show up often. Instead, you'd hear creaks and whistles and have all sorts of weird shit happen all the time, so when something finally DID happen, it had impact. Unfortunately, it was too predictable and rushed towards the end of the game.
Still, I give them props for the Storage level. That level seriously dominated me. There was one door in particular that made me go into Hyper-Caffeinated Super-Parkinson's mode where I frantically tried to close the goddamned door and failed like 6 clicks in a row before I got my shit together and kept my face from being torn off.Comment

Re: Nope.
I still have yet to play any game that makes me shut it off due to being afraid to play any further lol.

The beginning of the game had me. But I figured everything out just after the water monster sequence. So the whole game lost it's effect.I don't think Amnesia relies on that. That's more your Doom 3 scare strat.

I personally rather enjoy playing these scare/horror games and I can safely say only 2 series have really really nailed it before (In my opinion). I wonder if you could guess which 2
