    Eternal Sonata (PS3)

    Got the game off GameFly sometime last week or the week before along with Overlord : Raising Hell ( put that one in first, but it was put on hold untill now ). Just finished this game.

    Anyone else play it? What can I say, I thought the story was FANTASTIC, and the gameplay was spectacular. The ATB was well done along with the action elements of this music themed RPG based on the life and works of Frederic Chopin, all in a dream he is having during the last moments of his life.

    Some key points I liked :

    The RPG / Action mix, with progress ATB system

    An immersive story that any lover of either RPG, Classical music, or if your especially inclined, as I would actually belive a large majority of any of you reading this thread would be, BOTH. Excellent character development, from simple people, to the complex issues they face at the end.

    As far as I'm concerned, great graphics. It doesnt take much to impress me in the graphics department as of late however.

    Would love to hear what anyone else thought of this game if they have had the chance to play it, and, as a closing, would HIGHLY recomend to anyone looking for a good RPG to play.

        I bought this game off of eBay a couple months ago and I STILL haven't gotten around to playing it (for the 360). Nice to know that someone thinks it's good.

          I played it a bit at my sister's place. The game looks great, good music, cool stuff, I hate the battle system but that's just me.

            I played and beat this a while back when I rented this from BlockBuster.

            I thought the battle system (YES. I REALLY liked that your attacks (and the enemies) changed based on if you were in the sunlight or in the shadows), graphics, and music were all really good. What I didn't like, though, was the voice acting and story. The voices got annoying to hear after the first 30 minutes of playing, and then it just kept going for the entire game. The story was WAY too obvious from the get go and was a big disappointment in the end.

            I also didn't really care for the whole gathering of the music sheets and trying to compose them with random people.

            For what the game offered, though, I enjoyed myself with it. It's nothing something I would ever play again, but it was worth a full play through.

              i'm a chopin fan so naturally i loved the music. i can kinda agree with fallen that the battle system was kinda iffy (oh let's watch you do the same 5 or so hits for 3 seconds okay), but then the more party levels you unlocked, the more fun it got. pretty fun game. i'd definitely recommend it to PS3 owners seeing how it lacks RPG-wise.

              btw encore mode is impossible wtf (i can't counter to save my life )

              @macg - i watched the cutscenes in japanese w/ english subs does that make me gay
