What are you expecting it to be like? I guess I finally caught the Final Fantasy bug because I really want to play all the games. I really cant wait until it comes out. The story sounds..okay so far, though there isnt much about it yet.

I am downloading the trailer as I type this. Upon viewing that, I can better determine how I feel the game will go.

I crave new Final Fantasy.

FFX = insanely fun game with captivating story but deviated so much from FF formula that it could hardly be considered part of the series.
FFX-2 = really fun and quirky game that simply wasn't a true FF game
FFXI = online only, pay-per-month, not going there
FFTA = strategy RPG

FFIX = the last true FF game. So far.

youve played 1 and 2 that only came out in japan...i think...then again i dont know much about FF

I dont really have the patience to play the older RPGs. Being that I am spoiled when it comes to games being a "new" gamer (2 years).

I too noticed the lacking of the menus. I think it is going to be a sort of .hack style fighting system.

I really think Square-Enix is really trying to capture a new audience with their series. Which is good for some...and bad for others.

New characters developed. They have an airship. One of them is a Viera. She's really old. Well at least kinda old. Kinda of reminds me of Benjamin from Animal Farm in a weird sort of way... ya know "ain't none of you ever seen a dead donkey." Apparently Vieras live for a long time also. Much unlike their rabbity relatives sometimes called rabbits by some while others call them bunnies... Anyhoo, the graphics are awexome from what I've seen. OH yeah and the airship people's names are Balflear the "noble thief" and Fran the Viera martial artist... and that's about it I think

I don't know much about XII, but if they're staying with the (read:superior) FFX-2 battle system, it'll bring a lot more casual gamers to the FF table, but is gonna piss off a lot of long time fans. FFX-2 deviates so far out of the FF mold it can hardly be considered an FF game at all, but the battle system absolutely blew everything else away, so I guess I'm glad they're keeping that.

I'm not sure about this one.
It does look pretty good but looks like it won't be a normal type of Final Fantasy.

viera was in FFTA. thay are mages, archers, and fencers, and something else i forget.

The one thing i hates about FF X-II was the special dressphere. that ruined the game. as soon as you have an option to kill everyone in one hit, the game is no longer fun.
