    Help :(

Anyone know how to fix an Xbox 360 20 gb HDD? When I turn on my Xbox with the HDD in, it comes up with the message that I should contact customer support and the number E68.

I know that this happened because I opened up my HDD but if anyone has a fix to this, then please help me.

If I can't get a fix, then I guess that this is a welcome back to FFR for me until I can get the money for a new HDD.

    also:

E68: Voltage Error... This error means that the Xbox 360 has insufficent power to function properly. This can be caused by an error in the hard drive or the fans that make them suck up too much power, it can also be caused if you have unnecessary accessories attached to the console like an external fan unit. Attempt to remove unnecessary accessories first, and then necessary components such as the hard drive and USB devices. If you have any case mods you may want to investigate those as well.

    and also:

    THINGS TO TRY

    1. Turn off the console.
    2. Remove the hard drive.
    3. Reattach the hard drive, and then turn on the console. If the problem persists, discuss replacement options with the agent.
    4. Obtain the latest automatic update for the Xbox 360. To do this, connect to Xbox Live.
    5. If you continue to experience this behavior, contact Xbox Customer Service.

Note If the agent cannot help you resolve this issue, you must replace the hard drive. Discuss your replacement options with the agent.

      Re: Help

The video shows exactly what's going on with my Xbox.

I have no external accessories so that can't be it.

      I tried everything.

I can't connect to Live without an account and I can't get my account without my HDD.

Customer service will laugh at me because I voided my warranty by opening my HDD.

      Thanks for trying though

I thought I could hook it up to my PC somehow. That didn't work out so well.

              Re: Help

you probably should have realized that opening up your hard drive to connect it to a device different from what it's meant for could possibly have some negative implications on it

lmao that sucks. Should have tried it on a friends 360 before you tried it on yours. Just buy a new hard drive or send it in and say they gave you a ****ty hd

                  Re: Help

Xbox puts a sticker on everything to make sure that if you open it that it voids your warranty.

Tokzic: I know, that's why I wasn't acting surprised when it broke. I'm just simply seeing if there's a way to fix it.

                    Re: Help

If you want to, buy another HDD (maybe the 120gb one if ou want to) and get a transfer cable to transfer all of the saved info into the new HDD.
