Damnit I Finally Caved In

I've been trying to put it off but I guess I couldn't take it anymore. For years, I've been bashing Pokemon and the game once my interest fell off and went towards other things. However, I have a confession to make. I....



I WENT AND BOUGHT POKEMON FIRE RED AND LEAF GREEN FROM MY FRIEND FOR $15!

I feel so dirty and whorish. However, Fire Red has already sucked almost 10 hours out of me and I just got both games on Thursday. So here are my questions:

1. Was getting both games for $15 a steal or a rip?

2. Anyone else cave in and started playing Pokemon again?

3. Anyone also notice that Pokemon is making a strange comeback?

It is a steal. Good price. I would have taken it. Havent started playing pokemon and do not plan too. I am in 11th grade and in 1st period the guy next to me plays diamond all period. Kinda sad, for one to be so obsessed.

1. Definite steal. I would've jumped on the offer.

2. I didn't really "cave in" because I never really STOPPED playing. But, I got Diamond version and I've got over 13 hours on it in less than two days.

3. Yes. Everyone's talking about it again.

Ok, this is insane. I check my Myspace and friend and 5 other guys have divided into teams to face of against each other in battles. I can either choose The Flamers (Fire Red) or the Pot Leaves (Leaf Green).

Definate steal. The games are like 30 dollars each

Yes, I have. I had to go out and buy Diamond after all my friends were raving about how good it is. Currently at the 6th Gym Leader with 30 some hours put in

I blame CN and all the crap they play on there. If not for them, Pokemon would have been long dead after WB dropped them.

I just beat Fire red a while ago, then started Emerald, and Next wed. (my bday) I will be getting Pearl and will be occupied with that. And as of yesterday, I have one of the pokemon pearl/diamond promotional stand up thingys sitting in my room. <.< I swear I'm not obsessed.

I've definitely gotten re-obsessed with Pokemon, if you haven't noticed. D: I really didn't care about 3rd generation, and I never even completed my Sapphire or bought Ruby or Emerald (previously I had owned every version, gold/silver/crystal, r/b/y) but man... I got LeafGreen somewhat recently as well, and since then I've been hooked. >_< The combination of nostalgia and good plain fun as it already is is deadly.

I mean, I took a trip to New York just for the new Pokemon release. What is wrong with us?! XD

Really though, you shouldn't be too ashamed. I love Pokemon again.

Get Diamond or Pearl. =D;

I kinda wanna get into Pokemon again, but I don't wanna spend a lot of money AND get a wireless internet. It's just like ugh :/

So I assume now that Diamond and pearl are much better then the other ones... still not gonna buy or nothing. Is pokemon coming back again? Will this fad return?

Wireless is really useful even outside of DS games, especially if you have a laptop. If you search around, you can get a router for fairly cheap. I got one online from someone who had gotten it with a rebate from somewhere (you can get them practically free that way if you wait for the right time) and was reselling it to make a profit (I could tell because it was a new router other than the UPC being cut off the box XD ).

Or... you could just not play wirelessly that often, and just go somewhere like Starbucks that has free wi-fi when you want to trade or something. That's what I had to do while in the dorms.

Or you could pull a Chromer and get FireRed/LeafGreen. It's not a brand new game like Diamond/Pearl, but it's still plenty of fun, and not wireless.

Meh .. i look back at pokemon and i never hated it .. just grew out of it
Still every now and then i like to play pokemon pinball .. that game still keeps me entertained
And also now that you bring it up .. i do notice a strange come back of pokemon

Okay, I'm hooked on playing Pokemon again. I wasted most of school today either playing Pokemon or sleeping. Then I played again after school and during my lunch break at work. Then I played for about 30 minutes after work and I'm probably going to play it some more before I go to bed.

PS- I'm in the Rock Tunnel now. :3
