HELP!!!

(I don't know where to put this thread so feel free to move it to where it fits best, I know it doesn't belong here)

I am using bittorent instead of limewire and when I download a bittorent the light is always yellow, never green, and it takes like 240 hours to download one game (ex. green green). It says if you never see the light turn green you might have a firewall or a proxy server, try and route bittorent through your firewall. Well I let it through my firewall and it still isn't turning green, can anyone help??

7KB/s is awfully slow. Download µTorrent(www.utorrent.com) and see if things speed up.

be quite, It is a good site, calm down, so what if its a bishoujo hentai game? It's romantic and the girls are hot a hell...guys (except for the main character) are nasty looking though...but its still a good game, some of you might have seen the show

I always have problems with bittorrent... I think its usually because of a lack of seeders. If you have a router by chance with a built in firewall make sure the port is forwarded on it also. If you have a firewall other than the built-in windows one, make sure windows firewall is turned off.

Try portforward.com and see if that gets you anywhere.

It also could be that your torrent has bad health and that you won't get a remote connection. Though that's highly unlikely (as locally connected peers can frequently drop and reconnect in seconds as remote peers), you really should give portforward.com a try to make sure your ports are forwarded correctly.

Software firewalls can be fussy; turn off a software firewall if you have one when using your client and use the basic Windows Firewall. I can see you're using Vista, which actually has a lot more powerful and efficient firewall than the XP version; make sure you haven't blocked communications in your firewall somehow.

If all of that fails, maybe you should try a different bittorrent client. I personally recommend Azureus mostly for its excellent DHT network, but most other FFR members will recommend utorrent for its small memory footprint and efficiency. Both use totally different DHT networks, and though Azureus is said to have a superior one, you can get lucky with either. It's smart to have both and switch if one has download difficulties. Remember you will have to port forward on both of those clients, too.

A few things to mention before I lock this.

1) TORRENTS OF COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL ARE ILLEGAL. Please don't go flashing them around as if it's completely normal. If you were going to ask for our help, you could've at least been torrenting something legal.

2) GENERAL VIDEO GAMES?! What part of this is General Video Games? Sure, you're downloading the H-Game for Green Green. But your question is regarding bittorrent itself, not the game. It should have gone in the tech-help forum or Chit-Chat, but with the previously-mentioned corrections.

3) Learn how to crop pictures correctly.

4) RB_Dreamscanner: If you want to make an argument, please learn how to type.

5) Your argument fails. Please read the "Why do people like Hentai?" thread in Media.

6) Your sig is way too big. Resize it.

7) Locked. If you want to make this thread again (which you shouldn't have to do, considering we're not a tech support forum and that the answer was supplied in this thread), then you'd best make the corrections I laid out for you.
