MUGEN anyone?

I recently discovered MUGEN, and I actually think it's really cool! However, I'm having some trouble with the program. When I run it, the color and sound is completely ****ed up. Everything looks(and sounds) like an ancient DOS game. I can see the characters, the frame rate is running just fine, the sound plays, but everything is just out of whack. Is it just my sound/graphics card or something? Can someone please help?

Hmm. I used to have MUGEN and i never had that problem. So it might be your graphics card even though MUGEN doesnt demand much.

Maybe I accidentally DL'd the DOS version? That must be it, cuz it never said "Winmugen" when it loaded up.

I think you DL'd the DOS version too, that one is completely screwed up.
I reccomend finding a MUGEN game already in existence(That is relatively well made, try randomselect.com), and make sure that it's WINmugen, not just MUGEN. To upload characters/stages/music, go online and DL a character/stage/music that you want, then put it into it's respective folder(for characters, the chars folder. For stages, the stages folder. For music, the sound folder). When you extract the character's files from the zip/rar document, make sure they're all in a folder already. If they aren't, then stick them in a folder and name it what you want. That might help a bit...

What's MUGEN anyway?

MUGEN is a program used solely for creating fighting games(that are extremely similar to Street Fighter) with relative ease. What you do is DL the actual program(Or as I suggested to Chromer, find a MUGEN game already in existence), and then add whatever characters/stages/music you want, as the files are all open source. It seems very complex at first, but you don't have to be a genius scripter to make a good game.

Just go to http://www.randomselect.i-xcell.com/. This is where MUGEN originated, if I'm right. There's a good deal of games that you can DL, as well as a TON of characters. It's even got a search engine! Just be careful where you go, there's a lot of hentai porn characters all over the place.
