    Red Steel

So I saw a used copy of this game in a gamestop for a mere 25 bucks, and since I've wanted to try it out ever since I saw the fluctuating reviews, I decided to buy it. Now I'm sword fighting in my boxers, and having one hell of a time. Slowing down time to shoot the opponents where it hurts...and I'm loving every second. I got used to the controls quite quickly; I find them to be the way they should be...except I don't like how pick up weapon and reload weapon are both nunchuk shakes. Close-range slashing during gunfights is also a nunchuk shake, prompted by an outlined sword while very close to an enemy. Whenever I try to do that, the enemy usually sidesteps, and I'm left reloading because all these things are triggered by nunchuk shakes...and reloading while right next to a guy who just sidestepped you and is wielding a shotgun is not the most pleasant experience I've had. I've often tried to reload, only to pick up a weapon I happened to be standing on. Other than that, things like turning goes smoothly with me and shooting is great.
Sword fights: I find them better when they get harder. Deciding whether to break your enemy's weapon or to take them down a notch with a parry and slash away, or possibly do a dodge and then hammer away at them with a special move. Then they're on their knees and you either thrust your wiimote to take them out for good or shake the nunchuk to spare their lives. Honestly an immersing game in my opinion.
A nice variety of guns, but not a wide variety. Standard stuff, basically.
Grenades don't seem useful unless you get really good at throwing them, the nunchuk movement takes away practically any accuracy in throwing you might have had in other games, but it's pretty interesting to see how good you'd really be at throwing them
In my opinion it's a great buy for 25 dollars, unless your against getting used games. The thing I'm not sure about is the replay value, which could in fact turn it into a 'rent-only'. I haven't finished yet and I'm one of those people who will randomly pick up an EXTREME desire to play a random game 5 months after I've stowed it away...in other words I rarely rent.
Aside from gameplay: Graphics are not bad at all, you'll get the 'oh it isn't as good as Xbox 360' but I still find it a bit more than passable. Voice acting...you get a lot of dialogue that contains what sounds like forced accents. Aside from that the sound isn't 'God-awful'.
Be reminded though I haven't finished the game, and the replay value is probably little to none...but I can see myself coming home from a stressful day at school and this would probably be what I would want to settle down with. Or, you know, just throwing bookshelves down the hallway in Elebits. Either one works.
I have yet to try out multiplayer due to my lack of a second set of a controller w/ nunchuk. I went to 3 different stores and the mall two days ago and didn't find a single nunchuk. The Toys R Us had about 25 wiimotes though XD
Anyway, those who aren't sure should try to rent it or get a cheap copy; you might find it great.
    And so ends my rant.
Working...
