    Need help with Pokemon Ruby

Everytime I start it up, it says something like, "Internal Battery has run dry. You can still play, but time-based events will no longer occur."

Is there anyway to fix this without either paying for it or trading it in for a different game?

I can't get Cascoon or Silcoon now, and I can't grow berries. T_T

    www.google.com is your best friend.

It has to do with your cartridge though, I know that much.

i wish they would have just made it a regular batterytype thingy, the ones where you don't need to work with things that can burn a house down...or people.

I looked up yuor problem XD

If you click the link that DarkProdigy input, it has instructions on how to change a battery within in Pokemon Silver Gameboy Color cartridge. In that case, the battery is in charge primarily of memory (i.e. saved data, time data). I'm not sure about a GBA cartridge, but i'm going to assume that it has a similar function; giving the game energy to store data. After about a year, that batter runs dry, and can't hold time-based data anymore (such as the ability to cutivate berries). Nintendo tried to fix this problem by...well, I didn't understand that part of the article.

Here's the Wikipedia thinger I based my info off of:

Nintendo developed a program to fix the error by releasing it in demo discs for distribution in GameStop and EB Games stores and later through a demo disc given as a pre-order incentive with Pokémon Colosseum . Both also included rare Pokémon that would be transferred to the user's game.
So I guess you have two choices:

1.) Try to replace the battery. The downside to this is that this'll probably cause you to loose all your saved data, aand you risk messing up the game nternally
            2.) Buy a new cartridge
            -----------------------------------------------

I hope that helped you somehow =^.^=

So long as you have a recent version of VBA then it should have an option to turn on the internal clock, and it makes pokemon (and all time-based games) function correctly.

The Berry Glitch? I never knew much about Ruby/Saphire, but I do recall there being a fix for the glitch included with Fire Red and Leaf Green.

Quick Google search turned this up:
If you are fixing the glitch with Pokemon FireRed/LeafGreen (due out September 2004) link one GBA with a Fr/Lg cartridge to another with your infected Ru/Sa cart. Ensure the RuSa GBA is not turned on. Turn on FrLg and at the title screen, press Select and B. Also ensure that the FrLg GBA has the player one end of the link cable (the purple end of an official cable). Then press A to confirm the action. When the RuSa GBA reaches the Game Boy screen, press Start and Select straight away. The FrLg cart will detect this and begin fixing the glitch.
So... get Fire Red or Leaf Green if you haven't already. If you already have it, simple fix.

I hated when my battery died in Pokemon Gold.

And in Gold, when the battery goes, the ability to save goes with it. =(
