Don't priests get some sort of dragon-enhancing thing in 4th job? I can't remember, all the real and fake info is starting to blend together in my head. =\
So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(

In less-depressing news, I got a job for an online business (which sells non-electronic games, of all things!) which has taught me a lot about marketing online and all that jazz.

So now I'm on Twitter @NoahWright.
And I write the blog for their website.

Plus I do cool programming in-house that you'll never see. =O

Who cares? Dragon is still more useful than Doom.

ps they both suck but doom sucks more.

Back when I wrote it, Doom was so much more popular than Dragon.

Also, I made my characters for regular training. It's something I still do for Trickster. I don't get skills solely for boss fights. Dispel is useful for Zakum and other bosses, but how often do you kill those? And if something is Sealing you in regular leveling... well, that shouldn't happen. Aside from the B3 Jr Boogies.

Yeah, dispel is nearly 100% useless for normal leveling.

But are you seriously suggesting that using doom against grims is a good idea?

The only thing I ever use doom for is showing off and goofing around.

Bonk: I'd say that's a good idea. I only ever use SR when screwing around, or when sniping at MDT (and I really shouldn't be at MDT anyway). It really is a good idea to skip it completely if you feel like you can. I only wish I had known of the fact that I can't use it in training before I had gotten it. At the time I hit 70 though, I didn't know ER was so awesome.

              Re: MapleStory

Actually I've been considering doom quite a bit considering the glitch that it currently leads to. From what I can see after you get hit by a transformed monster (as a snail) and take 1 damage, after it returns to it's regular form it still only does 1 damage. This can be usefull considering any monster is piss easy if it only does 1 damage to you. According to this, though costly, doom can be a very very helpful skill. I dunno, it kinda goes both ways. As for your build b0nk, I agree with the "do whatever you want" strategy. I did:

              1 SR
              3 dispel
              1 door, 2 HS
              ~
              max HS
              3 SR (yup)
              ~
              15 SR (realized I'm dumb)
              3 ER
              ~
              Max ER
              3 Dispel
              ~
11 Dispel (where I am right now)

~ = 3 of previous skill over and over, level after level
1 dragon and 1 doom mixed in there somewhere, forgot when I added them.
I doubt that helps but yeah, just do w/e you want to lol. (And btw, I suggest at least 1 ER far before I added mine)

                  Re: MapleStory

More ER lets you solo DTs earlier, which helped my friend to outlevel me VERY VERY fast o_O SR is fun, but it isn't neccessary. HS doesn't really have to be maxed right away because after a certain point, it is only really time that matters (OH NOES 2 LESS EXP over dying less frequently and being able to train on higher leveled things==> faster leveling? =O). My friend has 7 ER right now and 28 HS and I told her to pump more points into er so she can solo MDTs and go to grims with a dk. ER is very overpowered... trust me. Level 28 hs is hardly noticeable compared to Maxed HS so you can hold off on that for a while. If you are going to solo a lot, or you want to tackle harder things with DKs and parties, go for ER. If you just want maxed HS for the hell of it, max it first. I don't see a point in maxing HS very early because as long as you don't tell your DKs, they'll never know. Dragon is useful, the extra damage helps kill a lot faster. Dispel may be useless in regular training but boss fights are incredibly fun, according to my level 103 priest friend. He said it is what inspires him to play his priest. Ehh... just go with whatever you feel like adding. Priests are all about flexibility so its up to you.

                    Re: MapleStory

If you ever want better experience as a priest, you'll want SR. Also so it's not boring as hell being a priest. If only I played a higher level priest (115+). Brandon's was only 88 at the time I was playing it at grims. >_> I can see how it can be quite fun later on though.

*Dispel - Max (20). Needed if you ever want to do boss fights (mainly Zakum so far). Boss fights are the best in the game.
*Dragon - Max (30). Not amazing, but better than the other skills you could use your points in. It's useful when soloing the circle around grims.
*Elemental Resistance - Max (20). Duh.
                    *HS - Max (30). Duh.
*Shining Ray - Max (30). Very useful to help speed up training from 115+. Able to solo as well. Takes some skill to use and makes a priest much more enjoyable. Get hit+heal, SR+tele, heal. Most priests find it boring if they only use heal, which is why they especially love being a priest later on when they can take two hits with HB, thus making using SR easier and safer, even throwing in 2 SRs. Being 115+ with SR makes you strong enough to do many more things.

                    21 points left.

*Doom - 11. At level 11, it's quite an improvement over level 1. This skill isn't really useful but it's mostly for fun. At least at this level, it isn't total shiiiit. For me, doom was more of a pain. A lot of times I wanted the monsters to keep firing at me so they wouldn't progress forward. Instead I got some as snails walking towards me because my avenger won't hit them as its already hitting 6 others. Plus the skill is expensive and a waste, but at least with 11, it's much more improved over level 1.
*Door - 10. Why 10? A friend priest really enjoys her level 10. I can see reasons why. Less rocks wasted from missed doors. Plus she could always go back, repot, and sell all her junk, with time to spare to get back into the door. Or say if you are buying stuff from basil, like I do, can set up a door when the other person is ready, go through, buy/sell whatever, and return back to where you were. Not only that, if you are a door person at Zakum and are dooring many people, you only need to cast a door to get a bunch through. Little things that make it worth the 10 points over 10 extra points in doom.

Squeek, you know quite a bit about priests. But you really have no experience concerning boss fights or higher level solo-priest training (by solo I mean both alone or without following someone around healing them). What's nice for priests who have good speed are 2 high levels splitting the grim map (one circling, one on bottom 2). They can go pretty fast. That's just one example of how much freedom a priest has.

                        Re: MapleStory

I did that. It was boring. Besides, people I partied with wanted me to Heal, not just HS. Viking maps were the only thing I did where nobody really wanted constant heals. "Just do it if you feel like it" healings.

Yeah, but like I said, I built mine for regular training first. I never planned to even look at a boss until level 100+. Good thing I never got there.
