    The SsB Honor Code

The Honor Code is an integral part of playing Super Smash Brothers. You can know how to play, sure, but are you honorable? Will people enjoy playing with you? Follow these characteristics and you should be on you way to being in SsB.

    General SsB Honor Code Characteristics

    You:
    -Are polite and good-natured
    -Don't use Hammers
-Hearts/Tomatoes are weird. If you're under 15%, it's generally accepted that it's ok to get it. But, if you're over 15%, that sort of seems unfair to some people. You have to read your opponent and see if he makes a mad dash toward it. This part is one part that isnt an officail rule. You have to choose.
-Stars, you get, then go far away from your opponent and do your taunt. lol
-ITEMS: Either turn them all off with cheats, or abide by above rules
-Know how to use PJ64k/1964 intelligently (read all that stuff here)
-Know how to use the Cheats in PJ64k/1964 (Here)
-Have the required cheats on (All Characters/Mushroom Kingdom(ItemSw))
-Have consistent fast speeds on PJ64k/1964 (here, particularly Lag)
-You dont pause irregularly. When you do, you ask if the person is ready before you unpause, and only pause when the players are not close together
-Don't taunt excessively. 3 per match, max.
    -Have some easy skill requirements.

      Honor?

      What?

If I play with items and there's a heart on the ground, I'm going to grab it. I'll grab it at 0% so my opponent does not grab it. I'll grab it at 300% because I want to heal. If there's a hammer, I'll grab it if my opponent sucks too much to stop it. If my opponent taunts late, I'm going to do a charge on him and smash him out of the arena. There is no honor. I'll taunt after every dang kill and whenever I get a chance while fighting, too.

Just don't taunt as mario, or you will be immoble for about 300 seconds.

On topic : Wtf are you talking about? Honor? What? Who even plays with items?

edit : www.sirlin.net <-- look up the playing to win (part one) article.

Rules like these make games suck.

They're for tournaments and things where the victor actually makes money and gains fame, not for playing at a friend's house.

I will use items all I want in any way I want. There's nothing you can do to stop me.

ps what is this a repost or something?

            SSBM tournaments have rules?

The only rules I know of in tournaments are 4 stock with a time limit, items off.

He's saying don't taunt because it makes people sad. That's just ridiculous imho.

              Re: The SsB Honor Code

The rule "Items off" is what spawned a massive thread made by me insulting it, leading to a rather large debate.

Ever since Super Smash Bros., I've used items. Not mainly to use, but to have something to throw. It's part of my strategy. Without them I probably suck. I'm terrible in close-range. Terrible. If I had to play a character with no range, I'd never win any match unless the opponent sucked.

I love items and hate that they're banned even if I understand why.

Haha same, i never actually use ray guns or beam swords and crap. Throwing stuff at people is awesome, and usually more effective for me because i can never connect with items and they usually do more harm than good since they let your guard down for a second.

                also

                  Re: The SsB Honor Code

Squeek, if you're playing items off, just use (Link's) bombs. You can literally be a major item pest with just bombs if you drop them and throw them in the right places to annoy the opponent.

There's actually some sort of term for people who use almost nothing except ranged attacks to kill people. It's pretty easy with, say, Samus.

When items are around, since I'm Marth and have no other projectiles, they are a welcome ranged attack.

If not, all the better, because I really don't care for items.

I'm actually pretty good with items again(I went from good to sucking to good), even though I don't use them very often. It's kind of odd. I think it's because I've been using Link.

What? I don't think any of the stages in SSB had any gimmicks that were unfair if you were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Saffron City maybe, but I've never met anyone who didn't like to fight there.

I thought that it only had pipes. I can't remember anything else in that stage that was extremely annoying, like say, foreground/background Arwing laser fire.

Really? Ness was top tier in SSB? I wouldn't know, I must have been eight or nine when I played it, and I wouldn't have known anything about video games anyway. Really, it's hard to believe this one.
