    Guild Wars Question

Is it possible to create mods for Guild Wars? My dad bought it for me for my b-day, and I want to know if I can make my own weapons.

I don't play the game, but odds are you can do something along those lines with a private server.

It's a freaking MMO. Just about everything is serverside. Only thing you might be able to change would be purely for looks and wouldn't affect gameplay at all. It may be impossible/REALLY HARD to do such changes regardless, since the game may think you're trying to cheat.
So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(

In less-depressing news, I got a job for an online business (which sells non-electronic games, of all things!) which has taught me a lot about marketing online and all that jazz.

So now I'm on Twitter @NoahWright.
And I write the blog for their website.

Plus I do cool programming in-house that you'll never see. =O

As EB said, it's like in Maplestory, you can alter things from your point of view, if you feel like it. It's like if you have five mesos, alter it to say 999,999 and decide to buy a blue potion, it'll say you don't have enough mesos, because you only really have five. If you buy an item worth 100 mesos and you have 105, it'll still say 999,999 if you froze the value, or 999,894 if you didn't freeze it but it somehow stuck. But in reality, you're down to 5 mesos and can't buy anything else.

And EB, it's easy in most games. It just doesn't do jack squat besides make it different in your game. You can usually do it with a hex edittor of some kind, or Cheat Engine, which messes with memory and specific packets.

Well I don't know how GW is on keeping out cheat programs, so they may be UBER STRICT and not let anything alter anything, gameplay-altering or not. They tend to have a steady stream of updates, so it wouldn't surprise me if they had tight security, too.

Oh, well I've never even seen more than a few screenshots of the game myself, I wouldn't know. I think I'll get it once I upgrade even more and get more computer-y crap. I may also get WoW, but I may just not get WoW at all. I'm not really sure, kinda 50/50 on it. I'll probably get Guild Wars, though.
