I'm pretty damned sure I'm going to be getting myself a Wii. It's basically the only one within my price range, but that's not really a factor for me right now. Now, I'm not the type to stand in a line to play the thing on release day. I'm going to wait for someone else to get it to see if I like what they've done for myself. However, as of right now, things look convincing.
Now here's what befuddles me about the PS3. Take a look at what I've found on Blu-ray DVD Players.
Look at the pricing there. The cheaper models have a projected price of $1000. Now Sony claims they are selling it, built into a console, for $600. With all of the money lost on each unit sold, it looks to me like the most they could do, assuming they get monstrous game revenue, is break even. There has to be something I'm missing here. Maybe these Blu-ray Players are actually a lot cheaper to manufacture than what they're being sold for?
I guess only time will tell. Squeek, that picture is awesome.
