This game, simply put, is amazing.
This is the 7th game in a series of shmups. It has an absolutely incredible soundtrack, challenging gameplay, and a (from what I've heard, I can't read japanese) very good plot. It isn't what you expect, it has fully detailed characters, although all are recurring from earlier games, many from the PC-98 or something, which is only available through emulators.
The game play is basically pick a character, and a mode, and
kick some magic ass. You can collect power points to power up your attack, blue points to get extra lives, and pink things for points. The bosses start out easy and get to be very challenging, even on easy difficulties. You hold shift to do the typical shmup slowdown for precision dodging thing, and either homing attack or precision laser, or something.
The game takes a while to beat, and has unlockable difficulties, making a replay worth it.
PS The music really is as good as I say it is, if you dl the demo, the music sucks, but the music on the full version, which I cannot tell you how to get, due to legal issues, has an incredibly superior soundtrack.

I greatly reccomend this game if you are a fan of shmups, it is the best shmup I have ever played.
