    oblivion issues...

first off im not sure whether or not this was the right forum to post this in...so if not, i apologize in advance.

i bought oblivion last sunday, brought it home, and couldnt install it due to the lack of a dvd driver. I told my dad and we picked one up the next day and i installed it myself.
everything installed properly, there were no problems with anything at first really, but now im at a point where its like a blue screen of death every 5 minutes while playing.

heres the dvd drive i picked up.

any help would be appreciated, thanks.

You sure you have the requirements to play the game? They are some pretty hefty requirements (I had to fork out £140 for upgrades).

The only problem I would check out is see if your video card is compatible. Infact check everything full stop, on this site select "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion" and it'll tell you what aspects of your computer are good enough or not good enough, anything in red check out and fix

Check your system requirements. Can I Run it? Test your specs and rate your gamimg PC.

If it still doesn't work, well I dunno, faulty game.

      weird, the link isnt working.

my computer specs are fine... radeon 9800 pro 128 mb. amd 3400+. 1g ram.

i play it on about medium settings and it runs alright.

something weird ive just noticed though, it only happens when i have the game in windowed mode. so i guess no more multi-tasking for me.

          Try that link.

Also, there are sometimes problems if you try to play the game with Anti-Aliasing on, on some systems, turn that off and see if it improves at all. Also, yeah, don't be playing it in windowed mode with other stuff running in the background, of course you'll get BSOD'd if you're burning up your resources.
