Baten Kaitos error.

    Baten Kaitos error.

    I've been playing Baten Kaitos recently and I'm about 10 hours in. It is just now that I've encountered a massive gameplay error / glitch that I cannot find out how to resolve. Yes, I've searched google and gamefaqs.

    So in the course of events I gotta get this little kid some cookies from a previous town. Normally this would take 10 seconds. I know exactly what I need to do this and I have it all. The problem is that the NPC I need to give something to is being a jerk. He won't tell me what I need to hear. Instead, he complains about how I don't know what these cookies are. He's supposed to tell me he needs an ingredient to make these cookies, which I have (And other people have gotten the ingredient before asking him, so this is not the problem).

    I've checked around and it seems other people have had this problem before which happened from various other means, but nobody has posted a solution. Rejecting hearing about the cookies in the first place earlier in the game has not lead to other people to encounter this problem. They could continue the game normally.

    I am not too anxious to start the entire game over again, but if I have to, I will. I cannot restart from another save file because... I don't have one.

      I think you have missed a step. I don't remember because that was around January of last year when I ran into the SAME problem. Go run around in the forest, that's all I can think of....If the forest is where I think this is.

          I don't think that's it... I've been reading over FAQs and walkthroughs on the matter hoping to find something like that. The only thing in the jungle after it was 6 magnus chests and loads of annoying enemies.

              Wow, that sucks =/ Keep trying because I find it that restarting an entire game because something happens really discourages you and makes you not want to play it. You might be different, though, so who knows.

                  Go back to the waterfall city and talk to EVERYONE again. Especially that creepy little girl...I think you have to talk to her, then talk to that lady near her and then I think that should work...If not, I'll just run thru the game again and figure it out for you.

                      You probably missed something really obvious. Go read a FAQ or two... Did you go to the castle?

                      And some random event about not being able to see should trigger in the jungle. Did you go to the library place yet?

                          I already went through the jungle with the stone. I already finished the library. Already fought the dude and already got saved by the girl who told me to go to the waterfall town then wasn't there when I got there. The reason I need the cookies is to move the story along so the hunter girl comes back to town.

                          I'll keep messing around in the game for a bit...

                          Edit: Ok, so the jerk let up about it. Apparently while I talked to someone about the girl needing the cookies, I talked to the WRONG someone. I noticed immediately after talking to the RIGHT someone, I triggered a cutscene in which my party members suddenly became interested in getting these cookies and subsequently pissing off a town member who originally stood on the bridge.

                          Omega, you can make this thread kick the bucket now.
