    Plan of Attack

evilbutterfly was right. Plan of Attack kicks absolute intelligent ass.

So go dowload this awesome HL2 mod.

As soon as I got the hang of the maps, I loved it. "Guys, they have to be going for the labs." "Shut up omeganitros, you've been wrong three times." "Guys, I can FEEL IT. They HAVE to be going for the Labs." "*Sigh* Fine, we'll go for the labs."
And then we were going for the labs and we heard gunfire and a grenade explosion, and i was like "AhHa! I was right!" Which I was, as we then proceeded to defend it from 4 or 5 soliders. And he was like, "I thought we killed them all." "GUYS THERE'S ONE AT CONTROL ROOM" "WHAT!? godDAMNIT!"
Oh, had to have been there. I was so funny. The way he said.

    Such a fun game.

    RE: Plan of Attack

I hate that game. It's probably the worse mod I've ever played (seriously).

You move way too slow. If you are at one objective and the other one is being captured/bomb is being planter/whatever, you won't have time to get to the other objective.

The crosshair is really annoying. The sprint isn't long enough. The weapon menu lags and sucks. The models look awful.

I'm sorry Omega, but not for me. Sure, it's the first total conversion for HL2. So what? They just released it early for the glory of being the first ones to do so.

P.S. Yes, I played the game.

      RE: Plan of Attack

Dude, it's only Beta 2. It'll improve as it goes along. And uh, I find the circular crosshair to be a TON more reliable than the broken line crosshair. I can actually hit people when I shoot at them in PoA, whereas in CS:S the cursor doesn't actually show where you're shooting. And uh, the sprint is too short? Have you ever played Day of Defeat? The only problem with the sprint is that there's no indicator of how much you have left, so you just kinda have to guess. But seriously, even as a rifleman, not as a ranger, I usually will go all the way around the map and hit people from behind to kill them rather than follow my team and hit them headon. If you want speed play as a ranger.

But...the thing I really hate about PoA is that newbs screw up so badly. They say they'll add a tutorial in Beta 3, but I'm not sure how many people will actually play through it. I think Verruckter has a point...they did release it early. However, I don't mind playing it as it comes along. Then I'll probably appreciate the finished non-beta version a lot more.

PS: Diablo Loco = me in online games. You'll never see me as evilbutterfly, but keep an eye out! :P
So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(

In less-depressing news, I got a job for an online business (which sells non-electronic games, of all things!) which has taught me a lot about marketing online and all that jazz.

So now I'm on Twitter @NoahWright.
And I write the blog for their website.

Plus I do cool programming in-house that you'll never see. =O

What's to learn? The class descriptions and buy menu were easy enough. All there is to learn is the maps and their paths, which you can learn with the awesome TAB button.

          RE: Plan of Attack

You must not have been playing very long, or you're still a person who doesn't know what they're doing. Very often you'll encounter situations where most of the team goes the entire wrong way. They're supposed to attack Obj 2 and they're over in the enemy spawn for some reason, waiting around with a sniper rifle. The experienced people who go to the right place all get killed because the other team is somewhat together, while a few idiots run around the map aimlessly. I've seen people run out of capture points and cost their team the round, for no reason. And there's always somebody asking what leveling up does. Newbs are just annoying in that game.

Wrong. If you look right besides your health there is a pink/red stamina indicator.

I was saying that in DoD you have very little stamina, and that PoA needs a stamina indicator.

eb, you must have had some bad server experiences, or I had some good ones. And you know, it's good to have one or two guys wander around. Every once in a while they actually serve a useful purpose.

If you ask me, I think these newbs know they're supposed to defend Objective II. They just don't know where it is. It's all about knowing the maps.

P.S. You know that one snow map with the trees at Coalition spawn? I laugh and laugh and laugh every time someone tries to hide in them. And I laugh harder when nobody notices them except me.

Oh man, the trees. They are so terrible looking. It shames me to see the Source engine wasted on such atrocious trees. I try not to look at them at all. And yeah, light is definitely a better map than the new one. May be just because I was so used to light, but I really like it :P.
