    Will Wright's "Spore"

Never in viewing a demonstration have I ever said "Holy shit" as many times as I did viewing this. You will be impressed by this video.

Heard about it awhile ago, but hadn't seen that. Very cool.

When I was watching that, the only complaint I had is that I hope you can return to any level of life. And still effect the overall world. I mean, if this is truly realistic, then it would be awesome to see some real chain-reactions...all I know is this could be the first real PC game I ever get into.

              I think you will.

Once you get to the stage where you control a spaceship, I think you can roam between any of the sublevels.

The game looks awesome. However, I am one who enjoys a good storyline, and I fear, that if I did play the game, the novelty would eventually wear off and would lose interest.

I watched it all, not something I'd look forward to playing.

Regardless of whether you'd want to play it or not, you can't deny that Spore is just insane. The idea to do something like that, with that much depth and that much customization...that's just crazy. I might get it just to screw around, and to support Will Wright's awesomeness, even if it gets old pretty quick. It does make me hope that more developers take odd and original approaches to game. There's too much repetition in the industry now.
So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(

I loved how it kept zooming out...and out....and out. And then when you thought it was done...it zoomed out. That truly was grand.

I don't like how easily he did it. He must have used a money cheat or something.

Speaking of which, was there money involved in buying upgrades? I think he mentioned it once, but I dunno. It seemed like there was no limit to changing your character every time, which makes me think the game would be way too easy.

Yes, there is money involed. He said you could buy new brains and other stuff. Also, it's pretty obvious that he was using some sort of cheat. It's a conference, and I don't think he would want to play a whole game in front of the audience.

From what I understood everytime you have an offspring you get to choice what you want to do with it..

So you can't change whenever you want, only when your creature has an offspring.
I don't remember the money part, I think it's more like unlockable content.
Like as you progress your creature starts getting smarter and more of evolution starts to take place. Unveiling new parts or customizations to the creature. I think if he had said the word money, then he was using it metaphorically to show that you can "unlock" or "unveil" new parts.

It would also work fine if you unlocked new things by comming in contact with other organisms. Learning off them, or maybe even reproducing with them to unlock new part combinations/evolutions to be used.

Either way this game is going to kick ass.
