    The Game Boy Micro

Nintendo also unveiled the Game Boy Micro this morning, here's what we know so far: Launch is slated for this Fall. Silver in color for now, expect all sorts of rainbow-flavored variations. Dimensions: 4 inches wide by 2 inches tall and 0.7 inches thick. Weight: 2.8 ounces (80 paper clips' worth of weight). Processor: Same as GBA SP. Form factor: "Gleaming shoulder and start/select buttons that literally shine", removable and customizable face plate. Screen: 2-inches, backlit and the "best Game Boy screen ever" with adjustable brightness controls for use indoors or outdoors. Marketing angle: "We're making the gorgeous Game Boy Micro for image-conscious folks who love video games, the ones who want the look of their system to be as cool as the games they play on it" according to George Harrison, Nintendo of America Sr. VP of marketing. It's clear that they're going after the kids who are too cool to carry around an obvious gaming device but who don't mind carrying something that looks like the cell phone that they're already carrying. Accessories: built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery; supports standard headphones. Software: the Game Boy Advance has nearly 700 titles available, all of which will be playable on the Game Boy Micro.

    Oh my god....

We know it's a little gratuitous, but we wanted to hit you with a nice new pic of the Game Boy Micro. It's just that cute. Holla!

Oh my God! That is soooo awesome....

    I offically <3 Nintendo now.

It's pretty cool. I do believe the screen is actually smaller.. I just recently bought a GBA SP cheap off of someone. While this does look cool (I will still probably look in to it if it's cheap enough) it doesn't look quite as nice as the GBA SP.

I was freaked out when I saw it yesterday.

I held onto my iPod pretending it was the GB Micro...

..yet the Micro is supposedly a hair bigger than the iPod Mini... yowzers...

I already have a GBA though. It's the regular one, but I have the Afterburner light installed.

I have an SP, but the R button doesn't always work... now I can have a good looking GBA game player that has a headphone jack (the SP headphones suck). I just hope it's not too expensive..

It's A NES Controller. I need this thing now! I love Nintendo products.
It looks very nice and I will buy it. The most it will go for is $110, but i
think that's still more than what they are gonna charge.

Its not quite an NES controller, it does have L and R buttons.
Its hard for me to decide to buy one or not, considering I got a DS last X-mas, but its a real pain to play GBA games on it (the button config just doesn't agree with me), and I have an old GBA, but that's not backlit, so kinda useless. I'll probably pick one up if it's like $80 or so. Or maybe I'll buy a cheap SP once this comes out. I don't know. Depends on how great that screen is gonna be.
                    One game? $50?!?!? Screw that.

Yeah, because I really want to pay more money for the same system three times in a row? Sure, Nintendo is all about innovation. All I'm seeing is rehashing of the same design, nothing innovative, especially that thing they call a 'Revolution.'
seconded. I don't really have any desire for this.

Yeah, I'm definitely gonna buy a game system with a 96kb video chip when I have my PSP sitting right next to me.

This shouldn't be for anyone looking to buy a gameboy advance. This is (Or at least SHOULD be) more a gimmick type thing for all of those who already have a gameboy advance. ...Who wouldn't rather have a fliptop (protection) and bigger screen (quality) anyway? I'd buy this but it wouldn't replace my GBASP, or even my GBA for that matter.

The thing is I don't think it can run GBA games because the games for GBA are noticably smaller than for the Gameboy.
