    New tyle PS2 question

Since the new restyled ps2 has a flip-top, does this mean that there is a simple way to get imported games from japan to play on it?

I remember a mod for the old ps2 that allowed import games from japan to be played on a non-japan system, it was basically making the ps2 into a flip-top.

I am seriously considering importing A.C.E. and a few of the beatmania games but I won't if this requires me to get a japanese PS2. Any help on this would be appreciated (If you know what A.C.E is then you are my friend )

    No.

Infact, without a modchip, it's even harder now... Enjoy

Yeah, I believe it is actually harder. I have both versions, with the older, bigger model being modded. Since, to my knowledge, there havent been any mod chips made for the slim version, and you still need a modchip to use a swap disc.

There's 3 models of modchips that will work with the slim PS2. They're all way overpriced.

It is also extremely hard to install them without destroying your PS2.
